It’s Monaco. Hamilton drove as slow as he wanted everywhere except the straight and tunnel. Save all the ERS power for those 2 areas, and you would need a suicidal divebomb like Max did to make any pass remotely possible as long as you have a power advantage. Mercedes is way too powerful for the Honda to have a chance.

If it was a Ferrari behind him, I’ll bet he wouldn’t have been able to hold them back. His tires were toast, running 3-4 seconds slower than some of the cars behind in clear air and old tires. He was lucky that he kept his rears in good enough shape to actually power out before the straights. Only way he would have lost today is if the fronts failed completely.

What the fuck Ferrari. Terrible weekend really, other than Vettel in 2nd which was pretty lucky re: Verstappen penalty, Bottas puncture.

Leclerc was incredibly unlucky, made the first part of the race entertaining. If anyone gives him shit for taking risks like that they are the problem with this sport. That first pass at Rascasse was incredible.

Hamilton drove quite well considering the shit tires he had. But this is Monaco where you can be 5 seconds slower and still not get passed. To me this track needs another overtaking spot or taking out the Nouveau Chicane so that theres a bit more speed to make for more passing opportunity. I love the track, just needs a bit more room for modern cars.

Otherwise I gotta say Verstappen was awesome out there. Mature race, kept it clean for the most part (his team was at fault for the unsafe release. The Merc was just too fast on the straights. Hamilton just blasted it on the straights and kept his distance. Made the last half of the race worth watching.

Leclerc’s strategy was great. Pre race announced he has nothing to lose and will be aggressive even if he crashes. Other drivers knew this and gave him room so they don’t get fucked. His downfall was clipping the barrier on his own, right at the pit entrance, then drove past it with damage necessitating a full lap of tire shredding his car into pieces.

To be fair I doubt he would have known of the puncture right away. He would have probably known on the straight, and by then its way too late.

A shame they didn’t put stroll’s start in there. Was as good as Sainz.

No, he was here today for a private event. Pretty cool guy, very down to earth.

Those guys must be flying all the time when they aren't driving. Pretty hectic schedule I'm sure.

Max keeps talking about how he simply likes to play Fifa when he can, probably his only downtime.

Petronas is in a partnership with Schulich FSAE this year. Bottas unveiled their car yesterday.

Petronas bought Progress Energy. They are in Calgary City Centre building and their offices are really nice. Large spiral stair case as soon as you enter.
