Default Electrical outlet on exterior of stucco garage

Didn't get any traction with my question in the "what did you do around the house today" thread, so I'll post my own.

Anyone have tips on cutting a hole in stucco so I can install an outside plug-in? The electrical stuff is no problem, I've done lots of that, but I'm worried that the stucco on my garage will crack and fall away once I start to cut it. Thoughts?
I was thinking the best way was to make a small hole and use a conduit into the surface-mount receptacle box. Kind of like this picture. Obviously this pic is a house with siding. Mine is an unfinished garage with stucco so I have easy access to the interior for the wiring stuff.

    Would love suggestions.

Edited. Not flush mount, surface mount.

I had to cut into my 50 year old stucco to move a window when we redid our kitchen, and had no issues with it cracking. The lathe keeps it pretty solid. I just used an angle grinder, but for an electrical outlet sized hole, I'd use a dremel.

If you want to be extra cautious, cut the appropriately sized hole in some plywood first, then press the plywood against the wall with some pressure so the stucco doesnt move while you cut.

Hmm, so you suggest cutting a rectangular hole and using an inset receptacle box instead of using a surface mount box and a small circular conduit-sized hole?

If I could see it from the house, I would. It would bug me to see a surface mount one. But that's just me.

Looking straight at them, they are the same size, aren't they? Or you just object to the surface mount style on principle?
