$1335/hr (+fuel +gst GST)
The REAL price is closer to 1600$/hr.
Also note that you will be paying for the ship to fly from its base to meet you.

Assuming you are taking a A-star, you'll need to refuel on the way as well. And pay for it to return to base. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
So Tesla might be cheaper.
If you cheaped out and found a local operator with a piston-pounding R22 (a tiny little ship), it might be closer to 800$/hr.
Any time you throw a turbine into an equation, the fuel costs become enormous.

How do you suppose factoring in when bringing stuff from AB to BC? Ex. Liquor, building materials, consumer goods...
So far I’ve been to the lake 17 times since April.
17 x $1700 = $28,900 GST = $30,345
Budgets really getting eaten up.

Well the helicopter bills would stack up pretty heavy when you're using it to get to lunch everyday since you don't have a car. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
But that aside, when you're spending 5-10 grand return per trip on a heli, it doesn't take much math skillz to see that's a hell of a lot more expensive than just driving a Tesla.

I hope double down on this... I'm not saying it's the worst argument I've ever seen on Beyond, but I'm curious to see if you can get there...This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Uber just launched a helicopter service, so there's that.
It’s been there for a while. Kenny posted a screen shot of it at Abu Dhabi.

Thats actually an interesting concept - personal, autonomous, flying ships.
I see those much more likely to come about than smart roads. Aircraft automation systems are extremely reliable and well proven (except for MCAS, which was rushed into use)
I enjoy the "it costs nothing to run" argument with EVs. My overall average on 3 vehicles is about $0.105/km from fuel while the govt standard for mileage is $0.55/km so that $0.45 is still happening. Depreciation, tires and maintenance are all still factors. While you can eliminate oil changes and many engine related aspects from that maintenance category, folks sure like to pretend electricity is free.
In terms of costs of gas, electricity is a steal.

Especially when the tax payer is funding it for you at all these public charge stations. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Most EV owners charge from home. It’s 1/3 the price as a gas car when comparing refueling/recharging in Alberta. Way cheaper in BC.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Oh of course. But if someone is ultra cheap and works downtown in most cities, they can charge up for free if they really want to.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I can't wait till these things are reasonably priced. I'd love to have an EV for basic around town duties.
There are free public charging stations?!?This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
All the ones I’ve seen are companies that own them and still give free charging but its based off going to a surrounding business.

Maybe things have changed? I don't exactly follow it closely since I don't own an EV. Cities were slamming up charge stations years ago, and they had them at road side stops on a lot of main highways. All in the effort to get people to switch over. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
