    Default The Jeep Wrangler Thread

So a buddy wanted me to go to a Jeep dealership with him as he was looking at Jeep’s. Next thing you know I walked out with a brand new one of my own. Always wanted one of these so I said fuck it. They have good deals on 2018 models if anyone is interested - I got close to $10K off on this one.

Have already ordered parts like the big tires, soft top, wheels etc that should be going on next week. Looking forward to it.

How many days between buying the Aston and Buying the Jeep was it?

What was the Damage? Is it an X?

Congrats! I find mine shockingly entertaining and find myself using it about 50/50 with the C63. I like the DGAF aspect of it.

I'm curious as to what your definition of 'the DGAF aspect of it' is. Going out in the bush and scratching it up or popping over curbs in the Safeway parking lot?
    Will fuck off, again.

    All of the above.

In particularly in contrast to the C63 which is a bit of a princess

It’s a 2018 JK Sport w/ some bells and whistles like AT transmission, AC, Bluetooth etc. Just the bare basics that you kinda have to have. Retail was around $40K and I got like 8-9k off don’t remember exactly. Already have the order in for some pro comp wheels with 305/65/17 Dick Ceepak All Terrain tires, JW Speaker LED’s and turn signals and a Bestop Trektop soft top for the summer. Not looking into lifts yet due to not wanting to void the warranty. Looking forward to seeing how the tires and wheels work out next week as I did fair bit of research but was mostly a blind decision without seeing many pics of the look.

And you’re totally right about the DGAF factor. Feel exactly the same with this vs other vehicles. Have been driving it constantly and it was exactly 2 weeks as of yesterday since having it at 21 kms and I was at just under 800 kms. Drove to Calgary today and at over 1100 kms now.

Lol. I am not a good example to follow when it comes to cars.

I would love to follow your example. I love buying cars. Haven't bought anything for over a year and it's awful.

Loving them! I feel like the extra width and weight already makes it bounce around a bunch less on the highway.

Need to get it off road next!

Those tires look great. I was initially thinking 285’s as well. But then I decided I wanted a more dramatic poke so went with 305’s.

I also got a Wrangler haha. Mine is the new gen 2019 JL Sahara with the 2.0T and E-Torque and it is actually pretty quick. I also got something like $9,000 off all together. These things have ridiculous residuals so it's a cheap lease.

Nice! I like the JL’s, nice refinement on the JK all around really.

What’s the ETorque? A temp increase in boost?

    The joke > You

    Haha
Yeah it's like a boost in torque at launch. I think Jeep claims it adds up to 70 lbft at start. It's a 48V battery that also starts the engine up when start/stop is running.

I drove both the 3.6 V6 and 2.0T and the turbo is much faster. It's kind of hilarious to drive around, because it still handles like a Wrangler, but now it's not slow anymore. I don't keep cars for long so long term reliability of this system isn't a concern.

I think it’s classified as a mild hybrid system. Pretty cool.

Agreed. Drove both and the turbo is definitely quicker. For my needs and purposes as a side vehicle I didn’t care for much more than absolute basics. That being said after my dad saw mine - we went in yesterday and got him a 19’ Wrangler Unlimited S as well with all the bells and whistles. The interior refinement is way nicer than Jk as well and feels like a regular nice vehicle. I specifically wanted bare bones for myself but JL is definitely a marked improvement than just the outside minimal differences.
