We have one of these with the hand crank.

Except ours came only with the single ceiling mounted pulley. We added a second pulley in the corner of the ceiling/wall in order to raise the roof to nearly the ceiling height.
I'm in the back seat of a 2019 wrangler right now and holy shit it's so unrefined. The fibreglass roof is awful in the rain, the wind and road noise is loud. Rides rougher than my 3/4 ton truck.
Good thing it's pretty.
Thanks for the suggestion, will explore it.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Lol. You don't get Wranglers for luxury or comfort. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Actually, maybe perfect because then you can't talk to anyone in any method.....
A lot of parallels between wranglers and boatsThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Except 1) I like boats and 2) Wranglers have decent resale. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Depends on when you bought said boat. If you bought a ski boat in 2007-2010ish era, you can likely get very close to what you paid for it in the current market. Its ridiculous what the USD and general cost of boats has done for the used market. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The back seat of the wrangler is really really terrible. Sounds like the JL isn’t much better. For some reason I hope the gladiator is better even though it won’t be.
Insulating the top also really helps a lot with noise and heat. Also bonus points it’s essentially immune to all but the largest hail.
Siri works fine in my Wrangler with the alpine system.

I honestly have 0 buyers remorse with the Wrangler purchase. In 3 weeks (edit: actually a month as of the 17th) I've driven it almost 3K km's and the Aston has been sitting mostly. Also shitty weather with rain doesn't help. But I definitely enjoy the Wrangler. Only thing pissing me off is it's been 2 weeks plus since I ordered my JW Speaker LED's from 4wheelparts and they still haven't come in yet!

You know that's totally true. And I can't quite put my finger on what exactly it is but there's just 'something' about the Wrangler that makes it...you know enjoyable. One of those 'x factor' things I feel like. I think that's how a lot of people feel about these and because they can't be specific with what exactly it is, they came up with, 'it's a Jeep thing'. lol. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Cause honestly....it really is a Jeep thing. haha.
I find mine immensely entertaining. I drive it at least as often as I drive the C63 even around the city.

I miss my jeep only because 95% of the time I drove on dirt/gravel roads where I work.
Definitely agree that having a jeep is great because of the IDGAF factor when you want to bomb around.
What sucked ass was driving on the highway, and any roads with bad ice.
What model was this? how many doors? mods? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I've had mine for 3 weeks and I have 0 complaints about refinement. It's much nicer than my Tacoma inside, at 120km/h it's slightly louder than the Odyssey. You can tell it has a solid front on bigger bumps but that's about it. The only thing so far that I have complaints about is the loose steering feel. I wonder if it's trim/equipment/suspension specific.
When you look around inside it does look a bit funny with fiberglass, but I got mine covered by Mopar liners haha. No matter what though it won't be as refined as something like Honda Pilot or CX-9. The only competing vehicle I can think of is the 4Runner?

I learned to drive manual when I was 13 in a Suzuki Samurai. Spent hours driving it on logging roads in southern BC with my grandpa, fantastic memories. And such a fun little car, I'd love to have one of those. I think that was the most fun I've had driving a car that was so slow. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Just saw a stock gladiator on the road. Looks awful stock.. tires don’t even fill the wells

Its a really pretty color though.
I'm not in the market for this or anything that competes with it. Clearly people (even some reasonable people) love them. I have just reaffirmed that I do not.
Here is a base Canadian model with lift and wheels added. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
