    i think the advantage of ODB is mostly just plug n play for power.

    my work truck one came with a harness. It plugs into the oBD port but you can still plug an obd scanner in without knowing the tracker is plugged in. Looking at the port it looks stock. The tracker is on like 2 foot of cable that you hide up in the dash.

    Are there any trackers that dont have a monthly or yearly service fee?

    Most of them have history for the tracking, so even without a SIM card they can keep history

    But if the OP wants real time or near real time tracking then some sort of subscription service will be required.
