We are pretty consistently at 550kWh per month year-round.

Two adults in 1400sqft detached home with detached garage, 2002 build. Second fridge in garage, chest freezer in the house, furnace runs only when heating. No A/C. Lights are all LED/CFL. Hot tub in spring-summer but on a timer so it only runs in the evenings.

    1600sq ft detached home

    2 adults

We're normally around 375kwh and peaked at 450 for Feb. Will probably be higher again now that we have a portable AC unit.

    !!!!! goddamn haha
Haha yeah I'm really starting to wonder now after seeing some of these posts.

I really need to figure out how much my furnace fan uses. Some people say it's a significant draw.
My hvac guy told me that it’s the startup that draws the most power. Basically he told me starting and stopping mine on set intervals would be worse than just leaving it on 24/7. Not only for electricity use but also wear and tear. However mine is an original 30 yr old fan and AC. Newer ECM dc fans probably ok to run on intervals

Two furnaces on 24/7, 1 HRV that runs 20 minutes on, 20 minutes off 24/7.

3400 sqft. 2 adults, 2 kids. Boiler with in floor heat, 9 zones (including garage) and Domestic hot water. 1 fridge and 1 upright freezer. Windows home server running 24/7. 5ton AC on 1 furnace only.

Basically, I have a fuck load of fans and pumps running all the time.

It was 800kwh average. 1600 sq feet. standard house. 2 adults 1 kid. Now with 2 adults and 3 kids, add constant laundry, AC and radon fan 24/7 we are 1350 average.

Some of you guys use a shitload of electricity.

2 adults, 1 kid. 1600sq ft detached, ~500kwh over the last few months. LED bulbs in the high usage areas (kitchen, living rooms, basement). Significantly up over last year same month, but reading this thread has made me feel a lot better about it haha.

You must be in a decently new/efficient house. The in floor heat and HRV obviously help, they're super efficient.

    I’m about 750 consistently.

Full size Fridge. Full size Freezer. Uncounter Bar fridge. AC. About a million incandescent pot lights that I just changed.

Jesus... How are you guys operating so efficiently?

We have 2 adults plus a baby, 2100sq ft, built in 2017, HRV, no A/C, led bulbs.... Averaging 1200-1300kwh / month.
We even have our house rated with a Energuide sticker to be over 15% more efficient than a typical new house.

What could be using so much electricity? Electric water heat?

Definitely. Electric water heaters use a ton of electricity. You save NG costs though.

A 1000 kwh is only $30. I waste more money on coffee I don't like per month. So I don't really sweat it.

About double that based on recent floating rates. Although if you are locked in on lower then good for you.
