About double that based on recent floating rates. Although if you are locked in on lower then good for you.
3c/kWh for another 2.5 years. First time I'm seriously considering an AC unit.

You used ~$35 in power and paid ~$70 in fees... fucking ridiculous

If there was a viable way to get off the grid I'd be all over it. This is getting away out of hand.
In my last gas + electricity bill I paid $34.29 total for actual gas and power and my bill was $164..... beyond ridiculous.

If you're with Enmax, don't forget you also have water/sewer/garbage/recycling on that bill.

A lot of people like to exaggerate their bills by including such things. It's one of those peeves, like the other current thread about how far they get on a tank of gas.

While I agree with you, my last bill was 6.83 GJ and 459.99 kWh, for a total bill cost of $163.19.

I'm on the atco 3/3/3 deal so its easy to figure.

You growing pot in the basement? Holy shit.

nope. The basement is a solid 60 deg F in the winter and I keep my garage around 9 deg. I really have no idea why it’s that high... I run gas everything else

You can thank Ralph Klein and his buddies for this. A lot of those costs were always there but the bill the consumer got was very simple and didn't break things out in detail like it does now. Now people get upset about all the extra fees but seem to forget that much of that was always there anyways. Ignorance is bliss, would you rather be it that way?
    Will fuck off, again.

1250 sq ft two storey house, built 2013.
Swapped to ATCO in March, but before that Enmax shows avg 500 kwh for 3 seasons, and jumping to 750 for June-Sept because of central AC.

2 adults, 2 kids. Gas heat/water. TV on constantly, plus file server. Not sure what else uses electricity besides laundry and dishwasher. Kinda wonder how much my Xmas lights use because last December and January are higher.

I prefer the split bills but now the problem is people want solar to compensate their use. I can see the appeal. BUT the energy companies still charge all the fees if you stay grid tied.
That plus the shit buy back rates AND the recent slashing of solar rebates, you can see why nobody wants to do solar in the sunniest province.

Do we have a thread where we can talk about solar feed-in tarrifs? I'd be down for that.

I'm at an average of 770kWh in a 2100 sq-ft house from 2014. Lowest has been 400kWh and the highest was in the coldest fucking God Damn February 2019 at (I think) 1600+.
I have gas heat & hot water but everything else is electric. For external factors, I have a steam shower and a 5kW garage heater but I only have it holding 10degC for the coldest months.

40 kWh less this month (566). That is with AC kicking in on most days because we have massive SW facing windows.

Maybe my wife used the double oven less this month. haha.

Two furnaces on 24/7, 1 HRV that runs 20 minutes on, 20 minutes off 24/7.

3400 sqft. 2 adults, 2 kids. Boiler with in floor heat, 9 zones (including garage) and Domestic hot water. 1 fridge and 1 upright freezer. Windows home server running 24/7. 5ton AC on 1 furnace only.

Basically, I have a fuck load of fans and pumps running all the time.
There are some crazy use per person or per sf going on here!

We've got about 3,800sf (plus basement) in a detatched 2 story, built in 2014, with 3 adults and 4 children. No server, but 3 wine/beer fridges, 2 furnaces running 24/7, in floor heating, large fridge, deep freeze, etc etc... And no LED bulbs. Our last bill was 780 kWh and the highest in the last 12 months was 1,181...
