Also I think I was cutting our lawn too short, popped up the lawnmower 1 notch which should help as well.
this was always my biggest mistake. Now I set it to level 5 (out of 7) and lawn always looks way healthier.

Our lawn looks pretty good and the rain makes a big difference. Haven't had to use the sprinkler much. I will try to keep the cuts taller though. Golf green looks good and some of our neighbors do have flat, low cuts.

The lawn has improved a bit with all this rain, but im too late to aerate and overdress so will do it this fall. Weeds are a bit nuts but the killex with hose connection seems to do the trick just don’t have much grass taking over after it dies

if you have bald spots, you could always hand rake out the thatch, throw down grass seed and put a small layer of topsoil on it. doesn't really matter how tall the rest of the grass is.

Sod laid in September of last year, fertilized in the early spring and a couple weeks back. Took care of weeds and patched some thin spots a couple weeks back and its like astro-turf now.

I'm going to give the Scott's Turf Builder Max a try. Costco appears to have the best price at $1.19/lb. https://www.costco.ca/Scotts-Turf-Bu...100292895.html

Just remember to water right after, and don’t apply too much or you will burn your lawn.

Will do, I think they suggest setting 4.5 on the Scott wheeled spreader.

I would go light the first round just so you don’t shock your grass. Do it right after a fresh cut, cutting grass creates stress which promotes growth, so feed and water right after makes your grass absorb the nutrients faster.

How does everyone prevent gas from dying along the fence/garage/house.

If it doesnt get enough sun, like a side yard between two houses, it wont grow no matter how much water, seed, fertilizer you put. Rip it out and lay fabric, then gravel. Grass needs good sun exposure

You can't force it to grow in a bad environment, no amount of water and daily fertilizer runs are going to magically make it grow if it can't get the basics. Throw in a flower bed, patio stones, or some gravel instead.

Also if it's dying right at your fence line, it could be your neighbor spraying the wrong kind of weed killer on the other side.

That's where a nice patch of creeping Charlie works well
