and I did not have the only say in the matter (most people just want it done ASAP and don't care about quality).

If anything we made a better decision because we had a consensus and were all on the same page.

I was finally asked back to the shelter this week. Man, it's taken me a couple days to get my groove back and I still haven't completely found my rhythm after being away since March.

Finally, the Post your Photos thread is going back to its roots: Cats.

I've been really grinding trying to improve my PS skills lately. Going through some old stuff and things are progressing. Have some ideas for the "scotch" I just got...

Learning a lot about masking, how to accurately select the things I want, the latest colour grading is interesting for some things. I'm basically doing HDR without doing HDR. No matter the software, I found they all don't do a great job no matter the number of brackets.

The latest version of PS has a sky replacement that looks to be accurate, easy, and immensely powerful (goodbye landscape photographers though lol). In real estate, it'll be nice from a selling aesthetics perspective.

Looking into getting studio strobes and it's been quite the learning curve, but also very intriguing.

For the real estate photos do you use any off camera lights? I know most tutorials recomend bracketing too. I just started looking into this.

No I haven't. For very large properties it would make sense - on-camera fill flash bracketed in can be really nice!

Here is one of the Japanese Scotch Whisky Alcoholic Beverage™ we enjoyed last night.

I'm not a scotch guy, but hibiki seems good to me.

I'd skip the strobes for this sort of thing and get a couple of these portable LEDs instead

Strobes would be clunky to lug around and set up and take down all the time, whereas these are small so you could strategically place them to light dark areas without being in the photo, colour temperature adjustable, and the battery lasts forever. I have a couple and they're freaking bright!

I'll look into that thanks! It's the large, soft diffusion that I'm aiming for, but fuck for $50 with adjustable Kelvin is really nice!

The setup I have now is beyond ghetto, trust me. That whisky shot is a composite of like 10 shots because I was physically moving my flash around by hand, sometimes through a round 5 in 1 reflector/diffusion disk
