Man I love those shots, such a great feel!
Thanks! Time to upgrade camera soon though. Noticing how all the new ones have way more detail/dynamic range nowadays. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Accurate, yet inaccurate...
What camera are you leaning towards? I'm moving away from Nikon here for the first time since I started shooting, about the pull the trigger on a Sony setup. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Not sure yet. I kinda stopped reading up about gear a few years back so don't even know whats decent. I am thinking maybe the r5 or r6 from Canon? Or maybe Sony? All I want is good AF and ISO performance. And not to spend too much $$$This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I don't know if you need that dynamic range; you photos have a characteristic aesthetic I find very appealing. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Sony sets the gold standard for AF that Nikon and Canon have been trying to catch up to. It's crazy how well Sony cameras have retained their value. People are asking for not that much cheaper than buying new even on 3 year old A7iii's.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Anyone get a good photo of the aurora borealis tonight?
Not a great photo, but it's something.
I totally wasn't expecting the skies to be clear so didn't even bother checking the forecast and then I get messages that they were totally visible within the city at like 11pm, so I rushed out the door with just a camera, lens, and tripod. I was surprised at how far reaching it was and my 18mm couldn't capture the whole thing in a single frame so I ended up shooting about 14 shots in portrait to minimize distortion when i stitched them together. My photo covers 185 degree field of view.
Yeah the lights were so bright in town at ~10:00 we didn't bother going out, we just hung out on the front lawn. They are forecasting for them again tonight so maybe I'll take the trip out with a camera.
I know @Melinda got some nice shots last night.
