The speed ones are the only ones I liked. Could be cool for breakaways. But yea, mostly it's too much for overlays any other time, covers too much of the play area. The puck tracking was brutal when shot was taken. Possession was off too. I'm looking forward to them validating that the technology works so we get better advanced stats.

They're launching tracking and advanced stats for this year's playoffs, and expect by next year all arenas can do this.

What was the game format, this year? I saw a game on a screen in a pub between what appeared to be the Atlantic & Metro divisions. I think that was Saturday night. So did they play a West game also and then a third game between those winners?

I liked that the jerseys showed the team each player was from. I've said they should do that since the dawn of time. FoxTrax Puck was 47 chromosomes out of 46 - just like it always was.

The name I could live with, but they need to do it in smaller, transparent text like video games have already mastered. But I don't need to see their number and I certainly don't need to know what team they are on. There are only 2 jersey colours - Inthink I have that covered myself.

I'm surprised no one is talking about the wicked run that Ovechkin is on, liable to hit 700 goals in his next game. if he has two more seasons like this, he'll break the 800 club and then Gretzky is legitimately within reach. Even if he doesn't get to Gretzky, something catastrophic will have to happen to him to not break 800 before he's done.

So wild that he has been able to do it through some real low scoring years for the league too. Obviously the increase in offense over the last few years has helped, but that takes nothing away from his torrid pace. Dude was bred to score goals.
