    Default Sprinklers

Im tired of dealing with shitty sprinklers that keep breaking. Any recommendations for a decent one that won't break the bank?

My last $45-50 one shit the bed.. well one of them.

I went onto amazon and got this one because I have a weird shaped lot. Used it a handful of times and seems decent so far:

For durability you can't beat the "vortex" style cast iron ones. Zero moving parts. Like this:

Any thing that has adjustments or is made of plastic WILL break.

I’ve had a similar one to the center pic and it’s been outside year round for 15 years, been run over with my work truck and fed from a rain barrel full of slime and rooftop gravel. Still good as new. My grandkids could still use it in 50 years if not illegal by then.

Do you get much distance/spread from that thing?

You need to buy one without any moving parts if you want it to last. That's what we've always done.

We've had good luck with the ones from Lee Valley - they generally only carry products that they can vouch for not being garbage.

Easy 15 to 20 foot radius, so almost 40 feet wide. Doesn't cover a large yard, but dead simple and durable.

    I've actually got this one:
    https://www.amazon.ca/Nelson-1865-Ra...ateway&sr=8-16
Been about 10 years now still works great. Perfect for a large yard since you can set the path with your hose. Basically hose length is your only limiting factor

I've been using a set of these for 15 years now. Have to de-mineralize them once in awhile, but they still work great. Personally I like the impact type, because I don't forget to turn them off

Would love to do a legit irrigation setup in the back yard - but for now, I've placed 2 of these at opposite corners of the yard, and just covered the garden hose with excess mulch. https://www.amazon.ca/Rain-Bird-32SA.../dp/B005MICUTO

Seem to last about 2 winters before needing replacement. Could probably extend their life if I removed from the yard and stored over winter.

This guy seems to like that sprinkler you have as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghcEzAuPgyA Looks like it works well on irregular lots.

Metal impact sprinkler, the sound alone is worth it. Otherwise the ones with no moving parts.
    Will fuck off, again.

If you can't micro-control your sprinkler from your phone, what's even the point of watering?

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.
