If you can't micro-control your sprinkler from your phone, what's even the point of watering?
I like to microdose the lawn and the digital PID control narrative offered with DeltaV, controlled by my phone allows for this.

Gardena Aquazoom is what I bought.
Like everything Gardena, it works great and still isn't worth the money.

For durability you can't beat the "vortex" style cast iron ones. Zero moving parts. Like this:
    Attachment 86403

Any thing that has adjustments or is made of plastic WILL break.
Coincidentally, I just happened to order the middle one in this very pic. Arrived today. Maybe something that I can toss around a bit without worry will actually get me to water the lawn.

I have moisture level indication at various sections of my lawn that go back to DeltaV. Waters it accordingly based on the levels.
Also have an alarm for high moisture level over a certain period of time which will send an op out to look for mushrooms. Response time is currently set at 1 day so they don't need to do a 2 am callout unnecessarily.
In the event of a flood, the sprinklers are part of the ESD loop to close.

Doesn't sound like something that was properly HAZOP'ed. Definitely need some SIL-2 loops in there.

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?

No that's the other guy you are thinking of.

I say, "If he dies, he dies..."
There is a reason I have a Drago jpg saved on my desktop. I use it as part of the justification of the decisions made.

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.
