I ran one of these turtles over the other day in my truck. Idiot had it in the middle of the road basically so two cars couldn't go by, if I was in any of my cars I would of had to come to a complete stop to let the oncoming car go by because some idiot put a turtle in my lane. Fuck off.

or you guys could be decent human beings, realize that there are kids probably playing, that cars create an inherently dangerous situation, and slow down for a couple of hundred meters.

Seems like most guys are mentioning going the speed limit, it is the limit not the speed you must travel. I absolutely don’t support these signs, but if I’m doing the limit and see kids I drop down my speed a little and get ready for the unpredictable kids. Saying that I really only do that on the side streets not the main drag of the residential community.

If you don’t have kids you may not understand what’s it’s like dealing with them, training them every single day just to do the right things is very hard, and sometimes they screw up and do the wrong thing like run on the road. I don’t believe my kids have gone into the middle of the road but they may have made it just off the curb. At least I’m on a very quiet street, I’d never consider a main drag.

I don't think anyone in this thread sees a child playing and ignores the child to go the speed limit. If I see someone playing I slow down and foot on the brake in case of. However, traveling speed limit doesn't warrant helicopter parents an opportunity to become specialists in speed and accuse people of things.

I'm rarely in a rush anywhere.

I laugh when I seem some dude in a Dodge Ram go flying by me on deerfoot or whatever. All I can think: "Dude, you're not important enough to be in a rush anywhere. Whatever you do is not that critical."

I don't mind the signs at all, as long as they are not in the middle of the street and on the sidewalk. I don't think it's a message from parents that I should be driving 10km/hr in front of their houses, but more of a "heads up" that there are young children playing in the area and to be perhaps be a bit extra cautious when driving by parked cars on the street.

Hit sign with car. When busy body comes out to harass you about it record her ( yes her ) saying she put it there, send bill for damage to bumper.

    ...

    Profit

If sign is on sidewalk, trip over said sign. Sue for damages. Also profit.

Can't stand entitled helicopter parents that can do no wrong. Other day after I got my car lowered, had cruise control set to 60 in a 60 zone in sport mode, so the car's farting here and there. Fucking dad stopped beside me at the light, yelled at me through the window, freaked my kids out then drove off. Told me the speed limit's 60 lol. Thanks tips.
AMG exhaust farts are a mad trigger to soccer moms. Had one chase me down, for not speeding, to yell at me to slow down because her kid live nearby. I told her to move the fuck along because the only one of us breaking the law is her for parking her car in the middle of the road.

This is a pretty reasonable approach. I appreciate a heads up that kids are in an area. But it shouldn't obstruct the driving lanes.

My kids are decently well trained, but certainly not aware enough to protect themselves from a car that might not have time to stop.

Streets in my area are pretty narrow, 50 feels incredibly fast.

Kids are not in danger from cars going the speed limits. Cars going the speed limit have magical unicorn shaped balloons that appear if they hit a kid. Kids just bounce off of them harmlessly.

A house up the street from me has a "Handicapped parking Sign" on a temp support in front of her house.

Are those legal ?? I get that there is probably a reason for the sign but shouldn't the city be adding those.

Are they allowed with a permit ?
