I had my eye on this one for the better of 5 years, from the first time seeing it in Birks (with a price tag of $3,895...). A long while later, I was finally able to add it to the collection where it was worn sparingly amongst other timepieces. This specific watch was sold in 2018. I thought this would be with me for longer, but I am looking to fund another piece. The dial is an incredible blue that looks stunning as it catches the light.
The condition is simply excellent. I am going to say 9.5/10, with nothing that I can really point of mention. This watch comes with a beautiful FC-705 in house movement which is an absolute stunner. The rose-gold rotor is of course eye catching, but this watch was really well considered, and the half crescent shape is intended to pay homage to a moon. From the care taken to the movement, to the hallowed rotor, to the stunningly blued screws in the movement, all scream quality and an obsession for detail. The moonphase is stunning, with the deep blue background to the silver moon and stars a real sight to behold.
The case is 42mm with a short lug to lug and with a thickness of 11.5mm - it wears smaller, more like 40mm. I have a 6.5 inch wrist and it looks balanced and elegant. This watch also comes with the updated deployment buckle which I think really adds to the "Special" feel of the watch and helps to preserve the beautiful authentic alligator strap. Of course watch keeps great time and functions as it should.
$1,500. I thought I would try it out on Beyond before dealing with Kijiji folk.
