They also make a ranger in between those two.

I sold my midsize truck to buy the F150. They don't tow travel trailers well. I don't see a single benefit to a Ranger other than I could park easier, alot more negatives.

Plus F150 has a bigger rear window for F*CK TRUDEAU and Metal Mulisha stickers

What size/weight of trailer were you pulling? Just curious because I want a Ranger or Canyon for my next truck.

I thought only Rams were certified to have those.

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.

Rpod 193 - 3800 lbs dry/ 5000lbs loaded (23' total length). Found the midsize was ok power wise, however it felt unstable in high winds or in the mountains. If I was just towing close to home, midsize would have been fine. However, I routinely head west or south in Montana through the mountains.

It's literally night and day how much better the F150 w/ 2.7. Endless power, good towing mileage and can barely tell its back there.

I didn't say payload isn't important, just that it isn't the sole or majorbfactor when determining why buy this F150 over a Maverick.

If I needed more payload I would have bought a XLT or lower trim. However, I wanted and needed the bigger interior, the bigger box and wanted it fully optioned including sunroof.

I also tow a 5000 lbs travel trailer so that alone rules out the Maverick.
That all makes sense. Towing 5000 lb with a half ton is quite nice

I crossed shopped the Maverick with the new Colorado, Nissan Frontier and Ranger. The reality is even a mid-sized truck is beyond my needs and they were all about $10k-$15k more than a similarly optioned Maverick. The Maverick was actually more comfortable and was the quickest believe it or not.

Apparently the new Ranger will have the 2.7 Ecoboost as an optional engine later this year. Might be something to consider if you need some decent towing power but don't want a full size truck.

The beef I have (and this is just me thinking out loud) with the Ranger is that it seems to be deliberately expensive in comparison to F150s in order to preserve the F150s title of Best Selling Truck for 100 years or whatev...the reality is 90% of truck owners don't really "need" an F150, but why wouldn't you spend a couple grand extra to get more space, payload etc and have the same engine so fairly similar fuel economy?

"by the pound" larger trucks will always be cheaper.

We have a Ranger at work as well as F150s. The ranger is a hunk of junk.

The question is do the stupid flock to Reddit?

Or does Reddit make you stupider?

It's the circle jerking. Beyond can be the same way in some respects.
