I saw a guy driving up the QE2 with a substantial trailer behind and a massive quad in the bed of his F150 yesterday. He was definitely pushing it.

As slow said, if you are going to be loading that much regularly it’s definitely 3/4 ton time.

I think we need a “Post an overloaded truck” thread, that would be entertaining in Alberta.

Hah, I saw a guy just last week on Deerfoot in a Dodge towing a trailer and his front tires were barely kissing the ground. So sketchy.
    Will fuck off, again.

This is the last of my trucks to post in here. Almost a full ton, in a 3/4 ton in 1992.

Fuck, you're right. My first thought was yeah I know the difference between ton and tonne but apparently I didn't.

Tonne is a stupid bastardization of measurement. If you use SI units, use the standard prefix on the base measurement.

When I was in high school and also worked for the Alberta Wheat Pool in the 70's, it was tonne. The conversion to the metric system in the 70's saw to that and officially we were required to use 'tonne'.

On a side note, how many beyond members are old enough to actually have knowingly experienced the 70's conversion to the metric system, I say knowingly because someone at 3 or 4 years of age really has no understanding of that whole conversion process. By 1979 the official conversion to metric system was completed, fuel sales were in liters, speeds were metric, weather was metric.

Is this a roll call for old people? I'm in.
Yeah, I remember getting " the talk " from our grade 6 teacher that big changes were coming our way and we had the option to stay with the imperial system or jump on board this new train and relearn a lot of how we measured the world. A few years into the roll out I was working at a gas station that was one of the first to implement self serve pumps and had fully embraced the metric system. It was a shitshow, lol . The station was located right on the Trans Canada Highway, aka, 16th ave., and we had tons of Americans come through as driving holidays were very popular back then. They had all kinds of problems just converting to our money, yet alone throwing in litres and kilometres to Banff etc. Learned pretty quick a lot of people don't like change and spent a lot of wasted time explaining and saying sorry (I am Canadian, naturally ). Anyhoowwww, fun times.

Jesus Christ. I keep forgetting there are people that stupid in this world. I mean, even not knowing the fundamentals of towing and hauling, who in their right mind looks at that and says "just gonna send it!"

I have in my life done things probably AS stupid, but not that particular offence.
Back when I might have done this, I couldn't afford it.
