Hmmm pretty borderline for what I’m trying to do. Was hoping it would be closer to 1350-1400lbs for a crew cab V6 or Duramax. Oh well probably better off saving my money anyway.

Sounds like you need a ranger!

I just don’t like the Ranger at all, and Tacoma is even less capable than both.

1400 lbs is better than a lot of half ton crew cabs.

Yep. Some have surprisingly low payload numbers, Tundras and a lot Rams are really low.

The Lariat Tremor forces a bunch of safety bullshit I have zero interest in, and works out to $4000+ more than a ZR2 for me. On top of that I just don’t really love the Ranger and the lockers at both ends and Multimatic suspension are important to me. The Tacoma has laughable payload capacity last time I checked.

I’ll never be able to buy a LBZ for what I bought and sold mine for

I know…they’re getting crazy! I could likely sell mine now for more than what I paid in 2013.

I sold mine with 320k for $10k last December. Very solid drivetrain and average body condition for the mileage.

I'm somewhat seriously considering listing my LBZ with a stupid price just to see what happens. I've seen a few all of a sudden into the 30s.

I test drove a 2007 Chev LBZ with 67,000 miles when I was in TX. They wanted $30k for it in 2018. I should have bought it. It was incredible.

My buddy has an 07 LBZ with 30,000 km…and he obviously never drives it. He could get some amazing cash for it now!

Those must have been lower mileage ones I was looking at. I just did a search for 2006-2010 Chevy and GMC, 200-300,000km and good ones are low to mid 20s. That's what I paid for mine in 2019. I was going to list it for low 30s, because I found another truck that I'm absolutely in love with for low 30s and I can't afford to put any money in on top. So that plan is off. I was hoping the LBZ tax was still in effect but it doesn't seem to be for a 250,000km version.

Is it your black one? If yes, it’s pretty clean so it wouldn’t hurt to try to ask for more…worse case, it doesn’t sell and you’re in the same place you are now.

Prices for both LBZ duramaxes and 2nd gen cummins have kind of dropped a bit oddly enough.

I think we are at the point that the newer trucks are so vastly superior that its no longer worth paying the premium. An interesting thing with both trucks is they suffer from an actual straightforward supply/demand curve. They were fantastic trucks far beyond their years, which kept prices high. But at some point, when you can buy a decade newer truck that rides better, gets better mpg, and has all the modern day creature comforts, the prices have slipped. Predominantly, people buy these trucks to be trucks, and the prices reflect what makes a good and bad truck. Which is why 6.0L's have never been worth anything.

I was very close to replacing my LBZ with a L5P Denali for $55k last June, and I definitely regret not doing it now.

One fat guy plus 1,000 pounds in an Explorer. That surprises me, for some reason.
Did it used to be more when they were more trucky?
