I'm there August too. Are we actually going to (finally) be there at the same time? At the rate I've been travelling, I'm going to clear 100k before the summer's over.
Doesn't look like it, quick passes in the maple leaf lounge is all for now. 100k, with one airline? I might hit 75k in total, but not with one airline.

Yea, all AC. Also noticed they put a million mile candidate status on my profile. Still a ways to go, useless target. I ain’t George Clooney.

This is the best search engine:

    https://matrix.itasoftware.com/

I believe it tells you where to book on the final booking page and also which classes of service or required for the particular fare levels.
I'm pretty sure this is what Google Flights pulls all of its data from.

Pretty much every flight search engine pulls data from ITA, which is owned by Google.

Decent explanation of the extent of chaos this is causing airlines:

A spokesperson said the airline’s latest cancellations will extend through Nov. 3, adding that the changes will affect dozens of flights per day. The changes will impact approximately 2,100 flights during the month of September and roughly 2,900 flights in October alone, the airline said.

Yep. My point was just that I don't see a reason to use ITA's rather clunky search over Google Flights' extensive capabilities given they're pulling from the same data.

Ok here's another challenge for finding cheapest flights.

YYC - NAN; Nan -3 to 5 nights, NAN-CHC - CHC for 3 weeks; CHC to YYC. Total trip length, 4 weeks.
Anytime from mid Jan to mid march.

OR, switch out NAN to RAR.

I am too but I'm only at 300k and I'm 32. Like you said, probably not obtainable

If I have a destination in mind, but don't have a preference for date, what's the best site/tool/method to use?

https://www.skyscanner.ca is pretty good for this. You can look at all of Sept or whatever.

Have been thinking about Hawaii for the week before Christmas break and noticed that for whatever reason I can't get YYC-HNL-YVR-YYC trip booked on one ticket through Google Flights. It either wants me to book on separate tickets or wants me to route though the lower 48. ITA is able to price it on one ticket and I'm also able to price it on AC.com directly. So what I'm saying is that there's definitely some benefit to looking through ITA Matrix if you don't mind the clunkiness.

Also wanted to point out that there's websites such as Book With Matrix where you copy and paste what ITA matrix produces and it sends you to a OTA to book. There's also Powertools that will help after doing some tinkering.

Kayak is another good one, you can set up alerts. ITA Matrix also has the calendar tool where you plug in how many nights you want to be at your destination and it spits out a calendar view.

I was trying to use Google Flights to book my NZ flights and all the best prices were un-bookable, it said to contact a travel agent (I did, and they couldn't see those prices either) Has it always been like that? I've never seen that before and I've booked dozens of flights on Google Flights. Ended up using Flight Hub.

What's the point of showing me a lower price when it's impossible to book?

ya it was garbage for me as well. or it would say 'all in ~$800', then go to the site and it would be 800 plus fees, so all of a sudden its $1100..

ended up just using my expedia for TD thing and booking individual flights. Used google to figure out cheapest days to fly, and it worked out to match it by the end.

Interesting. Yeah it's kind of useless now other than for getting ballpark prices using the date grids - unless the cheapest price is directly with the airline, you're SOL.

You guys ever heard of https://matrix.itasoftware.com/ ?

My coworker showed it to me, and it might be handy. You can't actually book through it but good idea for finding the lowest fares.

That is the same as google flights to my knowledge. Google owns it.

Correct, I just find it more responsive and tweakable than Google Flights

Flight Hub and Flight Network have always been my cheapest go to though.
