It says at the bottom that the price of the booking has changed.
If I were you I wouldn't book through any of these 3rd party sites. Use google flights to figure out what flights you want and book directly through the airline. It is alot easier in case you ever need to change a flight, delay, etc.
If i re-look @ the google flights, it once again shows that price. Frustrating. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Did you check the cost directly on the Air Canada or Fiji site? It will be accurate as it can take time to update on 3rd party sites. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
As an off topic, good luck with flights this summer. Everything I've booked overseas has been 50% higher compared to last year and everything is completely packed. I couldn't even book business, sold out. Wonder if it has anything to do with Max 8 being grounded and not enough planes for summer traffic.

Absolutely it does. Everything else is picking up the slack and at AC we're running some crazy high utilization factors this summer. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I'm there August too. Are we actually going to (finally) be there at the same time? At the rate I've been travelling, I'm going to clear 100k before the summer's over. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

So went through the Air Canada and Fiji sites, exact flights and dates. Air canada - 1345, Fiji - 2814 (after USD conversion, even on Can site it goes back to USD) = $4186 CAD. Still more then a grand more then google flights..This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Fack!
I always use Google Flights to search and then follow the link to the airline to book.
I didn't even know Google was now acting as a booking agent.
From my experience, direct bookings are always better than Expedia, Orbitz, etc. because if you have a problem with a flight the airline and the booking agent will always point to each other as the one responsible for resolving the problem. If you've booked directly with the airline, it's pretty clear they're the ones responsible for sorting you out.
What are your dates and airports? I'm sure it'll be a challenge for some of us to find you the best deal.
Quick example I found, booking round trip between SYD to NAN, booking out of expedia.ca costs $765 CAD. Booking out of expedia.com.au costs $580 CAD on a cheaper airline, and $600 CAD on the same flight.

Looking at YYC to Christchurch, anytime for 3 weeks in mid/late January 2019 to early March. Prefer to be within February, leave on a friday or saturday to get most out of my days off. Can avoid family day/week if needed.
That one was extra sweet as there was a 24 hour layover both ways in Fiji so could get some beach time and a nice hotel (this is honeymoon couple years after we got married).
Bonus points for an extra day in Fiji for sure...
$2977 total with a night in NAN on the way there.

Super weird. Same flights as what is on the google flights (other then the WJ vs AC from LAX), same price, yet can't match it by booking direct
Thanks, i'll talk to the wife on that one

I've noticed the same for my monthly trips to Charlotte. Last year I was travelling @ $500-$625. This year it is $725 -$850.
ON the topic of google flights. It is good for finding the right days to fly on to save money. It is also interesting to see the difference in code share flights. For instance, I've had a flight that priced out at around $750 if I book through Westjet but $1200 if I book through Delta for the same flight. Another time it was cheaper to boom through United over Air Canada for the same flights. In any event I always book direct through the airline.

I believe it tells you where to book on the final booking page and also which classes of service or required for the particular fare levels.
