A few weeks ago on the wife's Journey the windshield wipers quit working. She was wiping snow off the windshield one day and they just stopped working all together. To date i have done the following:
Replaced the blown fuse
Test the wipers - did not work
Tested for power at the motor. 12v constant on 1/5 pins but nothing else regardless of switch position
Replaced the wiper motor
Test the wipers - did not work
Replaced the stalk/Switch
Test the wipers - still did not work
At this point i gave up and sent it to my mechanic. It was diagnosed as the TIPM, apparently these are fairly common in the Dodge world to fail. The majority of the circuits in the Journey run through this control board, so this was a logical point of failure. These boards were 1000.00 to replace from Dodge in town so i opted to send it to these guys in the US that came well reviewed - https://circuitboardmedics.com/. They replace the failed circuits/test everything and ship it back, sounds great.
Apparently the TIPM as tested by Circuit Board Medics is working fine. And i have a new switch and new motor already installed. WTF else could be wrong in such a small circuit?? I am very much at my wits end with something i assumed to be an easy fix. Any help is appreciated on this one.
