How is everyone sharpening their blades and how often?
How is everyone sharpening their blades and how often?
If its bad.. I throw it to the bench grinder. If it isn't too bad I'll just use a flap disc.
There are attachments for things like a dremel but never used them.
Angle Grinder than a belt sander to finish them off.
Foothills Sharpening Company does it for something like $16 and it comes out like a RazorLazer.
I bought this and have sharpened my blade just once in two years. Will probably do it a bit more often now that I have this sharpener

I used to angle grinder it but it only takes a few minutes with a hand file and you take off less material and get it just as sharp.

This on my die grinder. Not sure if the balancing is that detrimental, but it makes me feel good.

Thanks for the 14 years of LOLs. Govern yourselves accordingly and avoid uppercut reactions!
I need to do this as I ran over something I shouldn’t have. Any tips on holding it in place if you don’t have a bench vise?
I don't even have any of the tools above but I guess my first task would be to figure out how to get it off the mower before finding someone / somehow to sharpen.
It's easy. I did it, and I'm more about pens than swords...This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Disconnect spark plug (if you're a pussy).
Tip mower on side (NOT on gas tank side).
With gloves, hold blade while ratcheting bolt loose. Use brain to squeeze blade and ratchet together to loosen if it's stuck.
Remove blade and take to sharpening store.
Installation is reverse of removal.
There are a variety of YouTube videos that somehow take 8+ min to explain what I just did, but search those if you desire.
