Just DIY onto the windshield patched into an available cigarette lighter socket. Nothing fancy.
Since it's not hardwired I do lose the parking feature when the car is off.
Stupidity is a disease we all have, it's like a form of brain herpes. Outbreaks will occasionally occur.
You can easily DIY.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
My F150 took less than an hour including removing and reinstalling interior panels.
Both VW Golf I have done took a bit longer due to the amount of clips on interior panel and installing the rear camera on the hatch and hiding all the wires.
Viofo has a sale on their website, up to 30% off

The BlackVue DR590X-1CH is on sale at Visons for $148 till the 16th.
I ordered one last Sunday and it showed up on Tuesday from a local store.
Seems like a nice upgrade to my OG DR400G-HD.
Going to wait till warms up to install it....

Prime day. Is the A119 still the best one to get at $110?

A FYI for anyone buying a basic cheap cam.
I found a snag with the current cheap cam I am using. It only saves in AVI which eats up space in the memory card and overwrites files too frequently. Anyone looking for cheap cam be aware of this. I overlooked this detail. I had two incidents non accident related and I could not pull the videos.
So im going to upgrade my cam.

Honestly looks like a good deal. I locked one in for the $5 gamble.
I can eat more hot wings than you.
Is there anyone here that does hardwiring or dash cams properly?
I am going to get one for my truck that I am going to be keeping a while so thought I'd check here first before I start calling up local shops. Preferred in Edmonton, but can make a trip to Calgary is need be.
Still have to get the dash cam but would be doing both front and back if getting them hardwired so will look at what good options are out there.
Visions seem to be having some decent deals? https://www.visions.ca/product-detai...u=F200PROD32CH

I've had Visions hard wire 10-20 dash cams over the years. People will hate but I have had no issues and they have lifetime warranty on installs.
That’s a good one. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I personally haven't, but the Mazda people rave about them. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
What is everyone using for a cam right now? I have viofo in the element, it’s eh, doesn’t seem to like extreme cold/heat

sig deleted by moderator, because they are useless
I have a Pruveeo, but I go from garage to garage so no extremes. Even still, the auto-start on it works ~80% of the time and it's tough to read license plates while in motion. I always have to remember that in a hit and run situation I have to yell out the plate number, it records audio very well.

The extreme heat/cold is something most dashcams don't like.
VIOFO V119 V3, survived -30c cold soak for 8hrs last Thursday. But usually I have heated parking at work. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Just picked up an A119 Mini 2. Sony Starvis 2 sensor so newer generation of image sensor. Seems pretty good for the price so far.
