I'm excited for this movie. From this first teaser, it looks good. Disappointed that Ice Man is apparently not in it. Also, the only thing that gives me pause is a brief clip of the young female pilot at around 1:30 in the trailer clip. Nothing wrong with women pilots. I just hope this movie isn't going to go all woke GIRL POWER a la Captain Marvel. They might've been hiding that element at SDCC to avoid potential backlash.

Do people really find Captain Marvel very girl power? Never found the movie pushed any girl power agenda aside from her being female. If anything, the one endgame scene was pushing girl power.

Ehh Captain Marvel hasn't been a dude in ages and Carol Danvers was a pretty solid character in the comics. The movie sucked for a lot of reasons but Girl Power wasn't a major one. The random Super Chicks Mega-Teamup For No Reason scene from Endgame was far more egregious.

The old Captain Marvel died so long ago. Carol Danvers has been around since 1968, and as Captain Marvel since 2012. In the comics, she played Tony's opposite in the new Civil War arc they had. She's a huge character in the comics, including "inspiring" an Inhuman hero named Ms. Marvel (One of Carol's previous monikers).

Hell, in the comics, Carol is a punch first, ask questions later, alcoholic air-force pilot, turned super-powered hero who can take Hulk or Thor on in fist fights.

Fair enough. Bigger comic book nerds than I in here. lol I knew the original Captain Marvel was male, and the one on the Marvel cards in the late 80's was male as well, back when I used to be more of comic nerd myself. Honestly don't know much about Captain Marvel as he/she was never a popular character. I didn't even see the movie for that reason.

I barely remember the first movie, thankfully I see that it is available for streaming on Amazon Prime so will be watching it over the weekend.

It's happened to Star Wars, it happened to Star Trek, its happened to others, and its going to keep happening to many franchises.

Just watch, that female pilot might not turn out to be just another competent member of the squad. Recent Hollywood M.O. practically demands she be the bestest ever and will embarrass all her male colleagues in Top Gun school. I hope I'm wrong though and a GOOD STORY comes first over identity politics.

Yeah just watched the new trailer, and then rewatched the first trailer. The feels are very very strong.
