Which would you rather have in a visual dogfight ..... 1v1? the F35 or the F18E/F?
The F18 while inferior just looks so much more bad ass than the F35 to me.

Nothing will ever replace the F-16 in my heart. I read way too much Wingman as a kid to not love Hawk Hunter and his F-16 (and later, F-16XL).

That's why I just say I have a 4" dick and lift weights to make up for it.

F14 is my goto being 80s kid.

I was surprised how big they are IRL when I saw one in Smithsonian.

Don't know how much of this trailer is fake out but it seems they took too many elements from the original. But I'm in for aerial combats alone.

    +1!

Did anyone else have the toy fighter jets with the detachable joystick? So many memories!

Edit - this prompted me to google the toy... It was a Hasboro "Flying Fighter"

For me, I was introduce to it via cartoon/anime in 1982 before I knew F14 that it's based on is real.

tom cruise posted a bit about making the trailer - video that's longer and better than the trailer incidentally...

can't seem to pull the link off the fb app though.

all of these machines vary in size a lot. I've gotten to jump in a variety of them over the years (old man is a retired fighter pilot). And they can shock you on the small sometimes too. Getting in a 104 is like sitting in a miata or something. TIny cockpit.

Haha, true but F104 performance is the polar opposite of a Miata!

I from the trailers, I get the sense that the new move will be much more serious than the old one, which is a loss as Goose was great for comic relief.

Lt. Bradley Bradshaw (Miles Teller), call sign: “Rooster,” the son of Maverick’s late best friend and Radar Intercept Officer Lt. Nick Bradshaw, aka “Goose.”

He won't be the comedy relief though. That's going to be the black guy.

Unfortunately, Kilmer’s throat cancer battle took away his ability to express himself vocally. Thankfully, he teamed up with AI company Sonantic to let fans hear his voice once more.

I had to turn on subtitles but man it was rough watching him going through what he is.

    It was done well.

I remember when the media gave him a hard time because he kept his illness to himself.

    Fucking bastards.
