I know, it was in jest. But a 991.x should be much more affordable going forward.
Finally us Corvette owners will be able to upgrade to a Porsche.

The Z06 (I assume the one with the 620HP N/A flat plane crank option) is going to be hard to ignore if they can keep the price proportionately reasonable to the base model (maybe $110-120K ish). I'd also love to see an AWD option, but I don't know if that's possible.

That’s a big flat plane... I wouldn’t want to be an early adopter

It’s fake, the NA option is over on torque by about 170ft/lbs.

If the numbers are real, it’s a hybrid-NA.

I suspect an NA mid engine corvette at that caliber starts at 89,999USD. If we can get a middle optioned car for 130 CDN, it’s a success.

    620 ft/lb from a 5.5 NA... I find that hard to believe.

Not possible on an emissions compliant, pump gas engine. Not possible, I repeat.

Those numbers have to be inflated, for each and every engine.

There is no way GM is putting that type of power in a mass produced car. Mercedes's 5.5TT was putting out 630ish horsepower. 850hp? That is a fuck load of boost and will be a lag monster.

Mercedes 4.0tt is putting out more than 630 right now

It’s laggier than the 5.5TT. I actually prefer the drivability of the 5.5 even tho it wasn’t a real AMG from scratch design.

Hybrid will fix that shit at some point anyways. GLS580 already pairs the 48V system to the 4.0TT (minus the e-turbo). Expecting the E63 refresh to get it first.

The lag on the 4.0TT even in the upper power configurations is minimal enough to be a non-factor.

I got spoiled by NA V8s, so definitely YMMV. Going from AMG 6.2L V8s and RCF 5.0 V8 to the GLA45 2.0T definitely killed my enjoyment of turbo cars. Thank god the 53 hybrid saves the day. I just do not enjoy any lag at all. Honestly can’t wait till the day I move to a performance EV. Then there’s no going back.

The GLA45 has that fun rally car lag. I enjoy it actually. The 4.0TT is very little lag. You could say almost none.

Time for another meet up. Lag competition!

But yea, I would agree that the 4.0TT has almost no lag compared to the GLA45 haha.

    Yes, I also hate lag.

I have both though, a laggy type R and a monster NA.

So it’s all good. Hate turbos though
