Of course there is to much understeer from the factory. Otherwise people would be crashing these things like Mustang's leaving Cars and Coffee. I am looking forward to seeing what this car can do in the right hands with some minor changes to dial out the understeer.
Stick axle Mustangs are a handful, or so I hear.

Meh... lots of steering angle, pretty predictable cars. They do kick out a little too easy though. Not surprising that the core demographic of drivers aren’t ready for it

I don't think you want to mod those magnetic shock suspensions too much.

But then again think modding cars is mostly cheesy so I'm biased.

It sounds like a pretty killer car overall and very impressive for a first year production car on a brand new platform. Sure it’s not refined, but it’ll evolve over the years. You have to keep sight of the fact that its most direct competitor from a price standpoint is a pdk Cayman S, and even that is $10k more.

How is improving the performance or aesthetics on a vehicle cheesy? Genuinely curious to hear your logic.

It's just a taste thing. I don't think it's wrong, and fully support people doing what they want to do.

Performance: just buy a faster car.

Aesthetics: can't think of an end-user that knows car designing better than a good car designer.

At the price point they were talking about there was always going to be compromises. That's corvette for at least the past 30 years. It's clear where the money is going, to make the car faster, if they wanted it to be better interior/etc it would cost more, and there are other manufacturers that do that, but a not a lot that follow this design philosophy. At least they understand the market they are selling into, people that want a fun second car, and I suspect there will be very limited people that will daily drive this, even in the summer months.

Speaking to the handling, a sway bar and different set of tires will likely transform that car. Agreed with sentiments above that if they left it even the slightest bit neutral then most people that buy them could handle them on the road.

So you don't think it's wrong and fully support people who mod their cars and yet you list as negatives what are probably the two top reasons that people do mod their cars for. Hell, even rage2 has done some aesthetic mods to his current rides, I guess you would look down at him too. Better yet, have you actually just replaced your worn out tires with the original manufacturer spec tires that came with your vehcle when it was new or did you changed to a different tire for some reason? But then again, you probably just buy a new car when the tires are worn out on your current ride so as to avoid any upgrade moral dilemma you might place yourself in.

Think less along the lines of "blood feud" and more along the lines of "I don't understand why people put broccoli on their pizza".

    It's true he does.

We need a "slut shaming" version of "green bubble shaming".

Performance is a bit easier to define. There are a certain criteria, but ultimately it is easy to base it using numbers and science. Speed, handling, ability to accomplish certain tasks, sure. But on the flip side, it can still can easily be improved on if needed. It just will cost you more money.

Aesthetics on the other hand, that can easily be all relative. An end-user could improve upon a car design at their own expense. Many times designers are limited in their capability as their true vision vs. production model are different. Compromises are made; cost, time, upper management bean counters not agreeing, etc. I've seen a lot of car designers even flat out say they encourage modifications on the car, both aesthetically and performance wise (particularly cars with lots of good quality aftermarket support). Every end user might be different and it doesn't mean it is the "most ideal" when it rolls off the assembly line for that person.

Sure, it's theoretically possible to add shit to a car to make it look better.

I just haven't seen it yet.
