It's not perfect but still a good first attempt by GM. I'm sure things will be smoothed out over time with a refresh. I just hope these things are at least moderately reliable.

Have to say, I am liking this. But not at $20k over MSRP that stealership wants.

I know it's more an American thing but I never understood why anyone would pay over MSRP for first year models. You are essentially depositing $20k directly into dealer pockets just for the opportunity to purchase a car at MSRP. That's nuts! Do some people really want to be first to own one of these so bad that they would just throw all that money away? Also you know that in a couple of years GM will roll out updates that likely improve the car greatly so you in effect overpay for the inferior version of the car that rolled off the assembly line with a lot of first year bugs.

$20K is almost exactly the difference between US MSRP and CAD MSRP after conversion. I bet they want to sit on it until the hype dies down before they give it up. They can probably ship that to US in used market and actually get that (if the market is still there). This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
With the markup on the C8, i would take the black GT4 sitting beside it in a heart beat.
I'd take the GT4 even if the vette was worth twice as much. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
If i had that kinds of cash to burn- I would definitely wait til year 2 or 3 of that generation. And then purchase outright. 1st year model anything (except some one-off cars like the LFA) is going to be a sub optimal vehicle. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Wait and spend that $20k into the Z06 in a few yearsThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
What about discounts of current C7 Z06?
I actually really like it. I would never pay 20K over so I will wait a couple years till the bugs are worked out before ordering one. My cheapness would never let me pay above MSRP in a economic recession.
Checked this one out at the dealership yesterday when I was picking up my car, pretty cool to see one in person finally. Definitely impressive but this one sold for $115k which is a big ol oof to me. Liked the paint and stringray element on the back. Only thing I'm wondering about it is how there's vents for the engine bay going down each side of the glass, if it's raining you are gunna get a good amount of water coming in, guessing there's drainage somewhere?
Also funny/good timing that I was behind a white C8 pulling into my neighborhood yesterday, random timing
I’m sure they tested it. This isn’t a Tesla lol. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Jesus Christ. Did they have blind people stitching these panels? Toyota can do stitching in a RAV4 dash pad just fine but GM can't get this right at the Corvette's price point?

Just an American car company making American cars. Nothing to see here.
Didn't look too terrible in the first unit I delivered?
That’s an awfully familiar background lol.

The bad stitching was present on a handful of cars, 90% don't have the problem. Let's blame it on early build hiccups lol.
