The more I look at the C8, the more I dislike the rear.

    It doesn't match the front.

I think someone here or maybe elsewhere said that one the GM design requirement was a rear trunk - which makes the ass look like....ass.

Yeah, Ive seen that a couple places. That jalopnik article says something to that effect too. As weird as it is, the worst part about the rear end is the exhaust IMO. Looks small/cheap; I think a more serious set of tips, especially if they were routed to the centre could look good (although might be impossible to engineer because of aforementioned trunk requirements).

Not just a rear trunk, a rear trunk that can store the pop off roof panel.

Would have to disagree, I sell a lot of Corvettes and 90% of hardtop buyers love the fact the roof can be taken off.
It gives you almost as much open air as the convertible version without the extra complication of a power top.

But I can see your point about it affecting the design of the rear end, although I don't think the rear end would have looked much different even if they put a smaller trunk back there.
I think the utility of having such a deep trunk is awesome, but I see your point as well.

I'm sure they are popular. But that says more about Corvette Guy, than it does about the design.

The ass looks fine with a spoiler. It's just awkward in base trim. The C8R's ass looks fantastic. ZR1 will easily fix the awkwardness with more tacked on shit out back.

Agreed. A big wing and diffuser combo will work well on the back end. C8.R looks great from all angles.

If you need to put a wing on a car to make it look good, you've failed at the design.

Well, still gonna see if I can catch it auto show to see if I hate the big square butt or not.

May be it just doesn't photo well.

BTW, sounds like another rear end styling complain.

Is it me or the engine sounds like ass too?

It's the other way around. It was designed with the big wing in mind. They had to take it off for the base car so we can identify the peasants. Can't have a peasant vehicle look good.

I will give GM credit for the green color. Looks good on that car.

I no longer consider it discount green, but rather premium-price-green.

Right. Buy vs. sell. How could I overlook that.

Green is kind of an underutilized color these days so the more manufacturers using it the better.
