See alot of them on the road here. Looks good from far and then you get closer and just think wtf have they done.

I have deff mistaken it for a Ferrari once or twice from a distance. Before the GTS I came close to pulling the trigger but I am glad I didn't. I had a sneaking suspicion that it'll be a relatively common car soon enough and now I see them on the daily.
I saw two at the High River car show and two this weekend between here and Edmonton.
I'm not putting this in the "Claim To Fame" thread.
I've seen quite a few in the NW and an ex-coworker has one. This is one of those cars that looks much better in person than photos. The rear end doesn't photograph well but in person it looks fine. I agree about the inside. GM is using Mercedes-Benz trickery in the interior as it looks fantastic in photographs and in person looks good at first glance until you sit in it, start touching things, and paying closer attention to where corners have been cut. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. I think it looks like shit in white and that's from far away.
Looks like the wish.com version of a supercar, which is basically what it is. IRL looks too narrow/long so doesn't have the attractive proportions of basically every other mid engine car.
Maybe the proportions will be made a bit better with the Z06/ZR1 (or whatever those variants are actually going to be called) if there's flares or wider wheel arches.
They fucked it up by demanding that there is a rear trunk that can fit golf clubs. It makes perfect sense why they did that, as Corvette customers have always demanded that their toy comes with storage. But you can't have everything, and if you demand some practicality out of a mid engine car, you're gonna get some fug along for the ride. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. I think we've maybe talked about it before... the requirement for storage shouldn't necessarily need to ruin the proportions as bad as it does. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
A random example: the NSX is 6" shorter, but 11" wider; that 6" length difference is easily explained by the requirement for trunk space, but why not just make the C8 wider? Gives you more interior space (for people/storage), and looks better. Also I'm sure there's lots of other good reasons (can fit wider wheels, etc etc). It wouldn't entirely fix the aesthetics, but it'd be a good start.
This is such a good way to describe this car's looks. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I totally agree. It just looks off, and like a cheap China knock-off of what it should look.
Couldn't agree more, The front lights always gran my attention then I am like WTF.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I agree, i liked them at first for the wow factor of changing up to mid engine, but don't love them anymore... that said Base Corvette's have never been desirable to me? Z06/ZR1 Definitely have..
The value prop for the corvette as a performance car is really undeniable.
Yea cause people by super cars for the value prop …. Want a be maybesThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I doubt people are cross shopping corvettes and supercars
I guarantee they aren’t.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The Corvette buyers are.
It's the closest thing to a supercar for under $100k. If you can afford to pay $150k+ for a weekend car then maybe you aren't looking at a Corvette but those people represent a very tiny minority. The Corvette is the supercar for the masses. Nothing can touch it at its price point. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Can you actually get your hands on a C8 for under $100k?

I thought that GM was being reasonable about this, for some reason. The sticker is something in the high 60's, isn't it?This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I'm pretty sure I heard that they weren't planning on gouging their loyal Corvette customers but perhaps greed got the best of them.
5 seconds of auto trader says 130-150k. Used.
Hard no.
GM’s website says $70k. But that feels like a bait and switch to me.
