Well, if stupid yoyo hadn't made everyone disable signatures you'd see in mine that my truck is a 2007. I don't think of it as old, but 15 years old isn't very new either. New diesels have 300lb-ft or more on mine. Still, 11mpg isn't very good.

I'd listen to a Ram owner talk about where Monsters are on sale, and that's about it. I wouldn't believe any claims about mileage.

Wind makes a huge difference on mileage when towing. Towing a 34.5 foot enclosed tandem car hauler weighing 11k-13k lbs with my 06 Duramax was at best 18L/100km and at worst 24L/100km.

    You got 25L/100km on diesel??¡?!
That seems terrible. I thought newer ones would get as bad as 14 if they were pulling a rail car. I think my friend's Ram 1-ton is near 12 but maybe I'm retawded
The older Duramax trucks aren't that great on fuel. My 05 with 17" tires will run at 2600-2700rpm on the highway while doing 120 with the allison 5spd.

If you want the trucks to get any decent mileage they need to be cruising in the 90-100km/h range.

The 2500hd crewcabs are heavy trucks too so everything is against them.

LLY's are the worst of the whole dmax lineup for mpg. I've owned/towed with everything except a L5P, and the LLY was shockingly bad even tuned.

LB7 is the mpg champ, if I would have known putting 34's on my LMM would have me running in 5th all the time anyways I might have looked harder for a clean one.

GMT800 2500hd duramax crewcabs are 6900lbs, 1000lbs lighter than GMT900 and newer trucks.

I just towed 8k lbs of flat deck out to Sask and back. First time towing a decent load with the new LMM truck and the big stupid azz 34's on it.

Running in 5th at 105km/h loaded with bad wind and rain was 18L/100km. Unloaded at 110 was 14L/100km

Truck gets 11.5 on H2 unloaded no trailer, was doing 10.5 prior to big stupid tires. So unloaded, pretty comparable to my 01 dmax. Our LML denali that is all deleted and tuned gets slightly better than my LMM, but is a better truck in everyway except for the exploding CP4.

Miss the LB7, towing 14k lbs of two car enclosed trailer cross country it did 20-22L/100km or 10.5-11.5usmpg (about 400-450 a tank)

I know all about it. You'd think headwinds would make for hard pulling, but it isn't. A crosswind is the worst. It wasn't all that windy though, except for about 45 minutes from Swift Current to Tompkins.

In the last 7500km my average is 19.6L/100km towing a 15klbs 5th wheel for over half of that. This is with a '20 Cummins, deleted (+35hp tow tune). This past weekend i went through crowsnest and had a headwind both ways and averaged 22.5L/100km. Thats hand calculated as well.

Best i get on the truck, unloaded is 15L/100km however thats on a +150HP tune. I could baby it down to 13L if i was lite on the throttle but nah.

I ran to Kelowna and back in a stock 2018 F350 Lariat crew cab short box 6.7L yesterday, empty 22 foot enclosed trailer on the way there (4000lbs roughly) and one car inside on the way back (estimated 7000lbs) and the fuel consumption was terrible. Right around 24L/100km the whole trip, $500 or so in fuel costs. Not only that but the truck was running hot leaving Kelowna and it really needed more power in places.

    That's really good towing a 5er, I'm impressed.

Twin_Cam, that's awful, by stock is it not even deleted? So add DEF on top of that I guess eh?

Wild that it was running hot with such a light load and needed more power.

Yep stock stock with 63k. Used 1/3 tank of DEF, water hit 110° and oil hit 120° a few times.
