    Shiny Saturday friends.

You can see the leather really soaked up the moisture in spots. I think these babies had been in the box for too long.

Didn't use any hard wax to attempt any mirror shine. Not sure it's the look I want on these, and they need the conditioning first anyway.

I need a bigger horse hair brush and to work on my buffing techniques. My boy dornstar had those wall mounted shoe trees that hold his work stable. My shit is flopping all over the place while I work.

You shoeshine degenerates, O'Connors has a good selection of the saphir in both cream and wax styles. the cream I got my my new AE's was $18. Lot better than what I've seen online. I think that's their regular everyday price too.

Which O'Connors location did you go to?

Organized my shit into a toolbox so I can stop carrying my kit in a plastic safeway bag. Everything fits into the toolbox, even a few extra spare rags. Bonus was that I have had that toolbox for years. Emptied actual tools out of it a while back and it's been sitting on a shelf in the garage.

Closed a nice US deal at work today so treating myself to some more saphir. Visited my buddy Ryan at O'Connor's and picked up the brown wax, black cream and wax, and neutral cream to test against the "low end" saphir neutral cream.
    Here's the fleet.

O'Connor's has great prices. $18 for cream, $10 for wax.

The video posted about shining shoes was pretty good.

I went to O'Conners right after work yesterday and picked up some Tan Polish. I'm kinda interested to see how it turns out.

Found a few minutes downtime this afternoon and did a nice multistage polish on these.

Saddle Soap, Leather Conditioner, Cream Polish, buffed to a nice dull shine with a horsehair brush. Also touched up the sole with dressing.

    Look much better.

If anyone used to use Ariel in the Suncor +15, he has been MIA for the last month or so, as apparently he had a heart attack.. Hopefully hes doing ok, as he had been there for around 20 years!

I wish I saw this thread earlier. Great polishing! One little tip I have to add is to see how you like using nylon stockings to do the final polish rather than a cloth. I bought cheap nylons from the old lady section of Walmart and ripped them up as I needed. Helps get you to that final mirror finish easier than cloth in my experiences.
Good call, Jason Dornstar makes reference to "grannies stockings" for the final polish. Haven't tried it yet.

Much more for protection than looks, decided I'd better get my Alberta Boots cleaned and hydrated.

I first use little bit of water and when they're completely dry I put a leather cleaner and conditioner (the one I clean my leather seats with)

Need to get back into this. Just getting back into wearing dress clothes @ office (I wore scrubs + some Adidas shoes when COVID was life from 2020-early 2023). Shoes literally have not been worn since 2020.
