mises is decidedly libertarian (small "L") - definitely not "right".

I've lost track, am I "Pro" or "Anti" deep state? And is deep state a proper noun, like shoudl it be capitalized? Is it Deep State? or Deep State? what what? Fuck politics is confusing.

I don't mean to interrupt all of the anti-Trump hyperventilating....but I found this article interesting as it relates to the hearings:

It wasn’t about being owed deference. It was just Vindman fighting back against the right wing propaganda dismissing him as a low level coffee boy instead of a 20 year decorated veteran and Ukraine expert. He actually even explained this later on in the testimony, but of course the author of this article conveniently left that part out.

That's the point. When their guys fuck up and goes down in flames, it's deep state.

    Spin and spin and spin.

What's called "deep state" is basically balancing shaft in an engine.

He left it out because it is irrelevant to his point.

FTFY. More of the expected intellectual honesty from Mises and their fans

The author's point is that the member of congress could have referred to the LtCol as Skippy the Clown if he wanted. We don't owe any special favours to the military. They work for us, not the other way around.

    It's a good point, no?

    (Paraphrasing)
Congressman: earlier you asked Nunez to address you as Lt Col. do you always expect civilians to address your rank?
Vindman: no I don’t expect that. It was because of how certain media outlets portraying me as low level, so I used that as an opportunity to explain my actual merits

How is an explanation of the alleged scolding NOT relevant to an article crying about that scolding?

And we are pointing out that it's irrelevant because he did it for a specific reason that has nothing to do with special favours. Can't get any simpler than this

Why he did it is far less interesting than the fact he thought he should, or could.

It's not really much of a meltdown. Things are finally getting interesting and it's all coming to light. This week has been way more entertaining than anything so far.

    Meanwhile Trump:
Keep fighting tough, Republicans, you are dealing with human scum who have taken Due Process and all of the Republican Party’s rights away from us during the most unfair hearings in American History.

Ain’t no meltdown here. I’m truly enjoying this. I am on pat leave now anyways so watching republicans and trumpers melt down is a good break from dealing with a toddler and a baby

Why he thought he should is less interesting than why he thought he should. Also for some reason bring up that he thought he could, even though there's literally no reason why he couldn't. This isn't even dishonest, it's mentally deficient word salad

Yeah, this whole interview was so ridiculous. The republicans yesterday bent over backwards saying Trump doesn't believe the crowdstrike conspiracy that Russia did nothing and Ukraine did all the election interference and framed Russia... and then Trump goes the next day and starts spewing how the conspiracy is true.

It’s incredible that someone that pushes conspiracy theories on F&F is POTUS. He could be impeached & removed based on character from this interview alone

In related news, looks like public hearings finished yesterday. Impeachment should be voted on and passed before Christmas, with the senate trial happening next year.

It's an amazing dumpster fire worthwhile listening to the whole thing just to see how senile Trump actually is... He fixates on some hilarious inane things like people not hanging his picture in their offices
