Canada needs to start throwing it's backing en masse to candidates that won't fuck us over with BS trade disagreements, new tariffs, cancelled pipelines, increased oil production, or making themselves great by making others weak.

Id be surprised if Trump won over Desantis. The latter is a much better choice IMO in regards to general vote (independents etc) and is way less insidious in terms of personality. Not writing trump off though as he had some ok policies (whether his idea or not) at some points in his presidency which really helped propel them economically.

It's really all down to what GOP decides. If Republicans can get a true and fair election this time around, it's basically a lock for whoever they run as President. Biden has one of the worst economic results of any ex-vice president in history, which is what people tend to vote on. Not to mention he is falling apart at the seams fast. So what do the Dems do? Run Kamala, which is a full on lock for the Republicans as she is even more unpopular than Hillary was, and Biden is. Their only choices are to run some new candidate that has no real track record, or try to rig another election.

The populace wants Trump, but he does tend to draw out the Anybody But Trump crowd. Desantis isn't as polarizing, and has a great following and reconizability now. Desantis seems like the smart choice, but he has yet to announce anything anyway.
