Wait until boxing day or black friday, they always have sales that essentially amounts to free shipping.

    Jebus.

You could buy a bike for the price of that thing. Ka$hima coating is a nice touch.

That proves with the right marketing you can up sell anything for almost any price to the bike industry folks.

Straight rip off of 1up, with a bunch of plastic and kashima. Hard pass.

New to me 02 Foes The Fly on 01 Marzocchi Shivers & Romic shock. Always wanted a Foes or Intense, even a 20 year old relic. Fork and shock appear to be recently serviced. Nothing beats the feel of coil & oil suspension! Will likely take an inch or so off the bars, 800 mm is a bit much for me. Going to hit some bike parks this summer.

I was a massive fan of the Shiver's back in the day!
    Awesome looking bike! Congrats.

Wish I had pics of my old Banshee Scream

I had a baby scream, Banshee Chaparral! Always wanted a Scream as well. Also had an 04 Cove Peeler DH on 00 Monster T's. I've tried newer bikes, had a 2011 Ibis Mojo SL Carbon with air suspension, great bike but I love the late 90's to early 2000's freeride/downhill stuff.

24/26 mullet and single speed probably didn’t help

    Nearly identical to mine!
Sans paint job, add a Boxxer WC.

I had a lot of fun on that bike.

My other bike at the time was a 2004 Norco 6 as well.

Learned a few things with this video.

    I'll stick with mineral oil.

TLDR: lazy > performance… this video brought to you by Sram

I was getting some pretty bad arm pump on longer more techy runs… finally solved that.

When I was braking (with my dot guild sram’s!) through the techy bits it was quick on/off… so after a few of those it was like I was pumping up the brakes and the bite point got further and further out… adjusted the lever in and it cured it completely… but now starting to think that these fresh, factory bled brakes might had some air in them… so going to try bleeding them and see what happens. Went from the old guide rs to the new g2 rs and I don’t recall this issue on the old ones

    Oh totally. Haha.

They tried their hardest not to be biased. It's too bad that they don't offer the mineral oil version of their brakes. (not that I am aware of anyway).

Meh, I am on 200mm rotors and Saints on all my bikes anyway. I still like them better than the 4 piston XTs.

#shivergang. real old photo, but I still ride this. Brakes and seat are upgraded, and a few other bits. Still rides nice for its age. Weird part about that fork is half is from 2002, half is from 2003.

Wow,I think that's an A-Line? Remember seeing them brand new in 2004-2005 also the red & black Team DH Cool that you're still riding it, those old marzocchi dual crown forks really are bullet proof. Probably why they stopped making them, well that an the weight. Nothing feels better to me than the Monster T/Shiver with the oil bath lubrication. My favorite era of DH/FR was the early to mid 2000's. Sure the bikes are tiny and steep HA compared to today's stuff, but they look so much better imo.

I could only imagine riding a 26er nowadays, I would need training wheels.

Yep 2005 A-Line. Its a very old school build. Gold Chris King headset and a Gold Hadley rear hub. Its nostalgia all over.

Haha, it’s a good reminder of how far it’s all come, was riding on the coast over the weekend and it’s crazy to think what they use to ride those trails on back in the day… even before those “bomb proof/Huck to flat” bikes of the early 2000s

1992… had to be hard tails and maybe 80mm of travel forks?

I remember mtb trips as a kid. No suspension on that sucker.
By the end of the day, shoulders and arms where numb from the vibration and rocks.
