I'm just getting back into it after a 14 year hiatus, but I'm eager to learn and get reacquainted with the trails.
I bought a few pairs with liner from Fox. They have sales on items regularly. Their tees are quite comfy too.
For MTB i typically wear liners with something overtop (depending on the weather either tights, board shorts, or climbing pants) over-top...but I like to have my legs covered when MTBing. Sugoi makes some decent liners for under $50 a pop. Save the spandex shorts for roadThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Well had my first ride of the year at Moose.
Climbing is hard.... lol as an ex DH’er I’m not used to that.
Climbed pneuma and down 7-27. Super fun coming down, you’d need some serious speed to clear some of those doubles though!
I’m a definite rookie on the climbs, but if anyone wants to ride let me know!
Love 7-27... but love shuttling more
Starting to run into a lot of folks back in the powderface area who are riding full suspension ebikes. Really weird to see this becoming a thing. Ran into two different groups last time I was out. One group of about 10 folks and another group of 4. Not sure if people are renting these things or if this is going to be the next big thing. Let's say the people riding these things are not in the shape one would associate with cyclists.
Also I'm pretty sure they are not allowed on the trails they are currently on based on what I am seeing on the Alberta parks website. Not sure how I feel about this new trend. Really weird seeing these people go up hills like they are not even there. People were rocketing up the hills going about 15-20km/h. Guess that's what 400 watts+ will do for you. I'm not too sure how these are really different than riding a "low" power dirt bike.
I assume these things are hilariously expensive as well since the bikes on their own look pretty pricey. Full suspension mountain bike frames with ~1.5 inch wide tires.

e-Bikes is already the big thing with all manufacturers racing to provide the best (Rocky Mountain, Norco, Specialized, etc ...) A lot of people including myself has converted to an ebike as it cuts the time going uphill and it's just as fun as going downhill. Its way too much fun as you can climb up many more times and still have an energy at the end of the day.
More of a convenient factor as I can go for a ride during lunch time and come back to work in an hour (Nose Hill Park). Traditional bike will take almost twice the time for the same trail.
I do appreciate e-bikes for providing the older/less healthy/injured demographic a great way to stay in the sport and I can also see the utility in saving time. However for most consumers, its about easier climbing and not having to invest time into your cardio. The new motors are getting more and more powerful, one of them even incorporated a CVT auto transmission... Give it a few years and you'll have pedal to peg conversion and grip throttles, so that every Karen can get out and "mtb".
Having ridden an e-bike, one thing that is absolutely certain though, they are not as fun on the downhill. Not even close.
I do want to get one of these one day..

This is what is coming to trails near you... 80km/h 6.2kW. This is just the start of this trend as well so we are just seeing the first cusps of what these "ebikes" are going to be capable of at the end of the day.
That's well in the 125cc realm of things if we compared it to dirt bikes. Good luck stopping people from taking these things out on MTB trails when people are already taking their ebikes on trails which are supposedly pedal only. Mclean creek coming to a MTB bike trail near you?
I seriously can't see this going anywhere good for the MTB world.
More people, more revenue for resorts and bike facilities, more investment in the sport, can eventually lead to more trails!
It definitely helps me get out and ride year-round and eliminate winter dread.
There are different e-bike classifications and in the USA, any e-bike that can propel past 28mph is considered moped/motorcycle.
E-dirtbike mentioned above is fair game and are allowed in motorized trails in Mclean Creek, by definition.
Some turkey stole my front and rear wheels off of my 29" Carve. Had them cable locked up, luckily the u-lock saved my frame. Tried about 5 shops to track down a new wheel set, but no luck, they would all have to be ordered in, no guarantee on time-line. Any suggestions for online stores?
have never used them for wheelsets, but chainreaction is always pretty quick for me
been biking a ton lately, some great trails down in the Crowsnest as well! Highly recommend Berma-grin at Powderkeg
I have stopped using CRC for awhile now due to their limited shipments of parts. I literally just bought a wheelset for the gravel bike build I am doing from Merlin Cycles and the wheels arrived in 2 days thru DHL. I’ve always bought parts from Merlin. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
