Default Ebike - what's your experience?

Looking to pick up an ebike to cycle with my old man. Been doing research and the one thing that seems subjective is the range you get on one charge. I'm considering a 48V 10.5Ah battery that should get around 50km. Anyone want to share your experience with ebikes and how much range you actually get out of a charge?

I bought a Bulls Copperhead EVO AM 3 Bike and rode it twice. First in turbo mode I rode 43 KM and the battery was down 1 bar. Second time I rode it 86 km in turbo and it was down half batt.

Will I ever run it in non turbo? Doubtful. Its seriously the best fucking thing around. I've a regular mountain bike but that thing will have dust on it now.

Sick bike. For that kind of money I would hope it gives you a rimjob every time you ride it too.

A bit out of my price range but good to know. Looks like battery capacity is 625Wh which should only get you 60 to 70km on full charge by my math. Were you only going downhill?

Bit of both. The battery monitor might not be perfect. I'll take it for a rip here soon as we get a bit more snow melt.

I've got a pair of older 250w Polaris Vectors'. rebuilt the 33.6v batteries for 20Ah total pack charge. They top out at 30kph then regen when over that speed, so you can't get into too much trouble. Basically set it to full power mode and go until it doesn't power up anymore. My basic rule of thumb for these bikes is to plan for 60km round trip. Don't want electric assist crapping out going uphill.

I'm looking at a few of my gps logs from summer: 4:31:43hr duration, 61.5km, max 37kph, avg 13.6kph (nose creek, downtown, elbow river, glenmore dam, 14 street, bowness park, memorial drive, max bell, ending at 32nd/nose creek).

Another gps log: 4:38:30hr duration, 66.5km, max 41kph, avg 14.7kph (nose creek/32nd, zoo, inglewood, follow river pathway all the way south, walden community, then back the same way northbound)

We rented Ebikes while in Lake Como. I wish that was my life daily.

Shouldn't the ebike be for the "old man" and not yourself?

The battery for my cell phone is worth more than $30.

I hope you have extremely low expectations lol

I think I have paid more for a cardboard box to ship a bike…

    You bought from wish?

You're likely going to receive a blow up sex doll.

Talked about it in the MTB thread, but I picked up a 2022 Specialized Turbo Levo Pro a couple of months ago. I'm never going back, and I sold my 2020 Yeti SB150.

    If there's a reasonable bicycle for $30 I'd call that a win. If there's a parts to convert a bike into an e-bike for $30 that's also a win. If it's a real complete e-bike for $30 then that's incredible.

    It's gonna be a e-bike brochure.

E bikes definitely got a lot of older folks out biking. Seen plenty of them in da hood now.

How are those butchers treating you? Can decide if it’s cause the bike had tubes and psi was a little high; but no confidence when transitioning to the edge while cornering, had this squirm to it

So far great. I think specialized improved them a lot in the past year. I'm normally a maxxis guy but haven't felt the need to change. In fact I just ordered the gravity versions of the stock tires to buff up the sidewall.

My Father bought an 'Electric Fat Bike Company' EFB1000 and absolutely loves it. Likes that it allows him to go on trails that would normally be too long or tough for him to do on a regular bike.
