What's so different in comfort level between a button shirt and a t-shirt? They can both be as loose or fit as you choose. One requires you to do the buttons. Is it the stretchiness of the fabric? Is it better if it's a stretchy button shirt? Something to do with the cup size?

If you have a stubby torso, it is hard to find button up shirts that you don't need to tuck and I wear t-shirts/polos as I don't like to tuck in shirts (Golf shirts are too long too).

not just comfort but $$$ too, a golf shirt or tshirt is typically a lot cheaper than a dress shirt and drycleaning and all that mess.

I quit after a cleaner fucked up one of my fancy-ass dress shirts and some pinstripe pants.
While it's great, ironing makes me want to self-mutilate my penis. I'm terrible at it and it takes me FOREVER and if you take a dry shirt to get pressed, they seem to complain.

Worst case Ontario I toss a wrinkled dress shirt into the dryer when I wake up and put it in straight from the dryer.

Also pro tip is buy sweat proof undershirts, your shirts just plain don’t smell anymore, and you never have pit stains, which extends life of shirts a ton since most antiperspirants will yellow white shirts. Worth the extra cost all day long.

Thanks, I will try that. I think my steam nozzle is clogged with scale because someone once tried it in our house and it fucking pissed a stream of water into the clothes.

I am a stinky individual and I get away with golf shirts without antiperspirant for a long time as long as I shower every morning and only wear once before washing. It still creeps in, but then I take the toothbrush from whoever's mom I'm banging and give a quick pit scrub on the shirt with a tiny bit of soap. Viola! I get another few months without perma-stink.

Sounding awfully salty Craig , you described what I wear working at an EPC when I was downtown. I rotate between jeans/dress pants on the feel. usually have a dress shoe on. Golf polos are an abundance in my closet and its all about comfort. I wore the odd dress shirt, typically if I had a client meeting.

For white dress shirts, light gray undershirt is a must, you won't see it.

Re: steam vs iron, have both, prefer iron, the feeling of a freshly pressed shirt every AM is unbeatable. Takes me about 4 mins to do the shirt. I tried batch processing for a while to have shirts ready for the entire week, just didn't feel as fresh though.

Since moving downtown, i definitely notice a wide array our office wear. I used to always have to be in a suit or atleast dress clothes... The new gig allows me to wear pretty casual stuff, but I keep it to dressish shoes, long sleeve button-down shirt untucked, jeans or lulu pants.. I prefer this for sure - saves me from buying work clothes and day-to-day clothes.

Normal laundry + steam is the way to go for dress shirts IMO. Dry cleaning was ruining all my stuff.

It's actually on sale, it's normally $120.
