    Default Moving Companies

Hi all, any recent feedback on movers in Calgary? I’ll just need them to unpack two 28” trailers which will be in our driveway.

Those are pretty tiny trailers...you could probably do it yourself quickly!

Out of the multitude of things that I could do my self, but would rather pay someone else to do, moving is right near the top of my list.

OP, I can't recommend a good moving company, but I can suggest you don't use Calgary Pro Movers. We used them last year and they had a very strange way of accounting for their time. Somehow 8 hours (literally to the minute) turned into 11 (some bullshit about travel time before and after the move) and cost almost $500 more than we expected. Finally after a long day, my wife just paid them to fuck off... I think this is where a more professional company would be more direct and transparent.

I highly recommend Royal Moves & Storage . I used them to move from my condo to my new house, no damage to anything and they were super friendly and careful. I'm not sure if they would just do the unpacking, but it doesn't hurt to call and ask. https://calgarymoversnstorage.ca/

I found out about them through my wife's sister, their interior design firm uses them all the time when their clients need movers.

Busy boy - Professional and fast. Only complaint was that they added more workers part way through because I had more shit than they expected and I didn't know this meant more charges for me. All in all it was fine and a few hundred bucks more than expected but the guys were hard workers and earned it.

This topic gives me anxiety, I am way to anal to let other people move my stuff now haha - I have never had a good experience with it in my entire life. Everyone says they're insured/bonded, etc. but good luck getting them to pay for partial damage or actually getting a claim settled. I agree it's crappy work though, so I see the appeal of paying people to do it.

I think never was eluding to the teeny tiny error in the size of the trailers. I agree with never, I'm sure he could unload them himself very quickly if they're 28" and not 28'.

No guys, just two 28 inchers. Oil is at $55, I won’t lift a finger for anything!

What are all of you paying for movers for the day?
Wife and I are listing the house... and much like @you&me packing and moving is right near the top of the list of things I'd rather not do.

The last movers we used (again, would NOT recommend) were $155 / hour for three guys.

Bump. Has anyone had a stellar experience with movers lately they could recommend? Ideally someone whose truck has a lift as I'll have a fully loaded tool chest and some loaded cabinets on casters.

A lot of auto techs use towing companies for their tool box moves.

Keep in mind the kind of people working for moving companies, are the type of people who couldn’t get literally any other job.

Stay the fuck away from 3 burley men, otherwise known as 3 meth heads who sit in the truck smoking all day.

Had a great experience with Red Mile Movers... interestingly enough they moved a chain of 3 families in our last move. (Us into our new house, the previous occupants into their house, and the previous occupants of their house into their new place)

Just used Busy Boy Moving. They were excellent to deal with, will use them again.
