I know people who spend $15 a day on Starbucks including weekends. That's $5500 a year, after tax. Skipping that is like a ten thousand dollar raise!
Well aren’t we fancy in our 50% tax bracket

.... is coffee a business expense??

The two families thing is apparently kinda common. Have a ***distant*** relative who did this. Although he didn't get busted so much as he just ghosted one family forever. So there's a wife and kid out there that hasn't has no idea where the dude went.

Makes the guy seem pretty shady.

You laugh, but that's where taxes are going for everyone. Cpp, EI, sales tax, income tax etc. We'll be begging for them to drop it to only 50%

Kids ain't a commitment, dude. Well, nothing compared to having to discuss how much you spend on starbucks AND strippers every month. Who wants to have that kind of talk - ewww.
Wait, you get strippers at your Starbucks?

What happens in this scenario? You have two wives. They find out about each other and secretly arrange to meet up. Their disagreement devolves into a hot passionate pillow fight in flannel pajamas. They fall in love with each other and elope. What percentage does SKR get?

if you cant trust them with joint account, you shouldn't be married or have kids with them, me and my wife have had ONLY a joint account since several years before we were married (now married 15 years)... seriously a joint account should be the minor of those 3 commitments....
It seems most relationships don't trust their partner to control their own finances. I asked who was the first to bring up the idea of a shared account? Never got many responses.

My wife would have laughed if i said early on in our relationship that i wanted a shared account so i can track what your spending and that your paying your fair share of the bills.

Funny, some people think a shared account means a lack of trust, others think separated accounts means a lack of trust.

I guess either way, the three account system must be the least trusting of all! Sorry wife.

Weird, I'd never read the shared account as the untrusting option... My wife would have laughed if I'd suggested we do a bunch of calculations to determine what each of shares of bills and contributions need to be As I've said before, in our case it's just easier as there's only one income. The idea of having a seperate spending account that my wife could get her "allowance" in seems bananas to me.

Let me guess - you guys keep a chart by the dishwasher to make sure each person is putting away an equal amount of cutlery, relative to the amount they use... Afterall, it's only fair

Agreed, they should be paid a living wage that affords a home, complete with cable and internet, in "insert city of choice here".

If they are going to look like Aspen baristas, I am fully supportive of paying a bit more for my latte to help put them through school.
