Ordered the Wyze units, thanks for the help!
I've got a few Wyze V3 cams outside my house. Literally looks like daytime with color in the middle of the night. I'm shocked how good they are now.
Can identify people who are checking my door handles with ease, color of clothing, etc. Haha.

Did you find a Canadian source for them? I have been checking periodically but I haven't seen them on Amazon.ca or elsewhere in Canada.

    Haven't found a consistent source.
I'll see some on FB marketplace pop up or on Kijiji but they go very quickly so you just have to be ready to go get them.

Thats one of the reasons why I'm leaning towards Eufy. Theres always groupbuys on RFD from the Toronto guys to save on shipping. And looks like you can't even buy any currently as they are reserving inventory for Cam Plus subs only.

Yes, they finally secured a Canadian warehouse so the Canadian site should be up shortly. ~2018

Anyone tried any of the ultra cheap Unifi Protect cams?

Looks like they are around $30

Thanks - didn't even know they sold them there. I'll keep an eye on it.

A year ago Wyze told me they were setting up a Canadian warehouse but I still haven't seen any evidence of that actually happening.

I run 4 Arlo cameras and their doorbell camera. I've had no issues.

Doubtful this has ever been in stock. Wyze can't even keep their own website in stock.
As Darell_n pointed out, they've been promising direct Canadian shipping for years!

With our weather conditions, no way it lasts 2 years. I think even the 1 year battery life ones, real time in Alberta was maybe 6 months.

    LOL, I remember that...

Either way, these are useless to me without RTSP.

Ditto. There is RTSP firmware for the Wyze, but it's really horrible. Will not stay connected. Glitchy video...

Hopefully I don't jinx myself...but I had connection issues where the cameras would go offline and cause horrid network congestion after every motion event, haven't had that happen after I swapped to Telus Fiber. Makes zero sense as to why that would have an effect though.

Lots of complaints about blink, but when I was researching them, the deal breakers were terrible real-world battery life (especially when the temperature drops) and there is no way for them to record continuously. Their battery life claim of 2 years is in perfect temperature conditions and perfect WiFi signal strength with only 70 seconds of recordings per day, which is not realistic for most applications where you would actually want a security camera. The default functionality is the ability to record a 5 second clip once every 30 seconds, so the chances of the camera missing something that it's supposed to catch is also very high. To me these would only be somewhat useful in a situation with extremely low traffic and a different climate than ours.

So my 2 Wyze cams are outside (somewhat sheltered) keeping track of the local skunks. Pretty good quality video for the money, but just too unreliable using RTSP with Blue Iris.
Just replaced them today with 2 https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B08...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Ordered at 8AM, got them at 5:30, already installed and so far so good, will report back in a while.
My main cameras are decent Hikvision and Dahua, but these 2 are in spots where they could easily be stolen/damaged, and video quality isn't that important. These TP-Link were cheap enough and so far RTSP over WIFI seems adequate for my needs.

Theres a newer firmware that seems to iron this out. Mine have been solid since I updated. I also did an IP reservation for them on my router to ensure they stay connected using their current IP.
