38 going on 39 here. I haven't eaten animals for just over 2 years and have been vegan for just over 1.5 years.

I'm still into lifting weights and I'm actually just as strong as I was in my 20s and I'm actually leaner. And there's no doubt in my mind that if I committed to it more, I'd be better than in my 20s.

That being said, I didn't do it for health reasons or environmental. It's my own personal moral reasons and while I won't preach here I wouldn't give a flying fuck if every animal and dairy farmer in the country disappeared. Why should I feel sorry for them? Their industry has lied to us for generations telling us we NEED animal protein to be strong and healthy as a way to profit from the commoditization of living breathing beings. Fuck them.
I feel like this is the introduction to a good old vegan preaching

Why is it the lady in that picture is exactly what I would expect a lady in that sort of picture to look like...

I just read an article about how if all of America stopped eating beef, 330 million people, it would have the same effect as removing 60 million cars off the road.

Not mentioned was that it's still a drop in the hat compared to industrial pollution, especially from India and China, who don't even bother following their own pollution laws.

There is no way I will ever give up beef, especially when these people tell me I should because of "environmental reasons". If anything when I hear this crap I double or triple my consumption just out of spite.

Seriously though, she started a movement in Sweden to significantly reduce air travel, as it's the most carbon activity an individual can do... Aside from having children, I guess... Ooops.

Thanks to her, there is now such a thing as "flight shaming".

I just heard about her the other day. Apparently she is sailing across the Atlantic? I mean, how baller do you have to be to have a boat like that, first of all.

But if she is going to #flightshame anyone, everyone who took their private jets to the climate conference would be a great start.

I'm gonna order a beyond salad next time. It's simulated vegetable made of beef. You can get it on a bun or as a steak. It tastes like vegetable. Nah it tastes better.
    then here is your food:

The fucking Swedes are at it again.

The Finns - who have reached a very good balance point between capitalism and socialism - call them, and their like 'kukkahattu' which translates into 'flowerhat' as in the leftist hippy, ban guns, carbon tax everything, men are toxic, ICE cars are bad, welcome all immigrants enmasse, ban all meat and even music that breaches societal pleasantries.

The Swedes and their femimist movement still tries hard though - Jordan Peterson went to the country and told the feminist movement head there to get her head out of her rear end and see how biased their thinking is now towards men - their society has been (correctly) allowing for equality of opportunity for decades, and women freely chose professions that differ from men.

I’ll never get rid of beef completely but I have been eating more chicken and trying to slightly reduce my red meat consumption for health reasons.
    What health reasons are those?

I hope not. I'm already biting my tongue so bad it's bleeding.

As for OP. I saw this the other day and thought it was interesting take on things.

I thought it was common knowledge in that, just like cutting back sugars, cutting back meats has various benefits like reduced incidents of diabetes and cancer.

I think the links to those are between processed and cured meat. Not regular old raw beef, like in a steak or homemade burger.

Flight shaming is legit, assuming the people taking the flight fashion themselves as caring about the environment in other ways. People compost (lol) to save the whales, then jump on a carbon spewing 767 to go sit on a beach in Hawaii. It's the height of hypocrisy.

It's why I tune people out when they talk about the environment but take flights for vacations.

Flight shaming movie stars who fly in their own private jets to eco-protest events , and yet HAVE to own a Prius to maintain the BS leftist Hollywood eco-narrative - is something I can agree on.

Flight shaming the average middle class who, if they are lucky enough, go on vacation once a year - is deplorable.

Yes there does tend to be a lot of fallacies that have taken hold as "common sense"

I agree. I guess I'm really referring to hypocrisy shaming. If that same middle class family thinks they are environmental do gooders because they green bin... Then ya they deserve some ridicule.

So in your opinion, reducing meat and sugar intake does not reduce the risk of various health related-ailments?
