No. I would probably reduce my consumption due for age and health reasons.

I think the quality of of beef, how we treat and the feed is more important (BTW Bigs Macs are $3 today).
Lets face it. Beef tastes good.

Climate change is a complicated issue and to pin it on beef is a shame. It brings the issue to a level where its just a hissyfit and a attack at destabilising one of our industries.
Should be treated like a engineering, economic and education problem.

I don't think I could stop eating beef. I don't have any data, but I would guess that if I don't eat beef at least 5 times a week, I don't feel good. I should probably get myself checked for low iron or something.

Eventually it will be covered by the carbon tax. They'll tie the methane production to it.

I love meet, but the world would be better off if we all ate less of it.

The other day I listened to this guy lecture a cashier when she asked "paper or plastic" for bags. He went on a huge rant about how plastic bags are ruining the earth and anybody with any decency should use paper. After he paid and the cashier asked me... I very loudly said "PLASTIC PLEASE!". He scowled at me the whole way out, and in the parking lot I saw him jump in a rusted to shit crew cab Ford and drive off in a puff of blue smoke.

What annoys me the most is inconsistency in this kind of environmental shit. Does nobody remember that plastic bags were hailed as one of the most amazing new technologies in the environmental fight? They replaced paper bags... which were made from trees cut down by evil loggers. Now suddenly paper is back in and plastic is out? Fucking ridiculous.

Moral is that people are fucking stupid.... and banning beef to stop climate change is probably one of the most pointless things I've ever heard of.
Have you ever considered that you're the same as that guy, just on the other side of the coin? You seem overly passionate and unwilling to considered other peoples opinions.

Our family is moving away from meats in general, towards chicken and fish. Love a good charcoaled steak though!
You know chicken and fish are both meat... right?

A trend towards less beef would be welcome to me.

That sounds like a shift in supply/demand which would be favorable to my personal interests.

Doesn't something have to happen more than once to be considered a trend? Or is this a new trend in itself?

I wouldn't know how to describe it. It's not like a craving, like the way you might be in the mood for Chinese food or something once in a while. I can crave something, but if I eat something else instead, I don't want to eat what I was craving anymore because I'm full and that's the end of that. It's not like that with beef. That makes me think there's something in it that I need. Pork and chicken don't work, it has to be beef.

TIL that chicken and fish are not meats, now I am still confused because meat is generally considered the flesh of an animal which would mean chickens and fish are not animals.
    Will fuck off, again.

38 going on 39 here. I haven't eaten animals for just over 2 years and have been vegan for just over 1.5 years.

I'm still into lifting weights and I'm actually just as strong as I was in my 20s and I'm actually leaner. And there's no doubt in my mind that if I committed to it more, I'd be better than in my 20s.

That being said, I didn't do it for health reasons or environmental. It's my own personal moral reasons and while I won't preach here I wouldn't give a flying fuck if every animal and dairy farmer in the country disappeared. Why should I feel sorry for them? Their industry has lied to us for generations telling us we NEED animal protein to be strong and healthy as a way to profit from the commoditization of living breathing beings. Fuck them.

Nah, I have reduced a lot of meat consumption but I won't remove them completely.

Also, my doctor said fish ain't meat and not to count that in my consumption.

I’ll never get rid of beef completely but I have been eating more chicken and trying to slightly reduce my red meat consumption for health reasons.
