I use it in my garden beds but it works on the lawn as well.

I'm also really curious if super fancy fertilizer really matters? I don't have any specific kind that I target, every year I simply pick a premium brand and not the cheapest option yet my lawn always looks great. My neighbors always ask me what fertilizer I use as well and I'm convinced the shape of my lawn has more to do with frequency of watering then anything else.

If it starts to get lighter green, mid way through the summer, I'll re-apply the fertilizer and keep watering. I don't over-seed, I don't top dress, I aerate once every 2-3 years if I remember, and power rake in the spring.
No. I have the Plant-Prod one of those and they are perfect for gardens but terrible for lawns. That's a hand held fertilizer mixer house-end sprayer.
The one I was talking about goes inline upstream of your lawn sprinkler so you can sit inside and pretend you make more money than you do while the lawn sprinkler waters and fertilizes for you.

There is, but it's tough to get at the consumer level because of people being stupid, and you also need to ensure there's a check valve because there's a nano -chance that the fertilized water could push back into your potable water system in your house.

Any irrigation should have a backflow prevention valve anyways.

Used to use weed and feed with good results for years.

I felt like it isn’t allowed anymore?

Weed and feed isn't allowed, but feed still is.

Show me the seed composition on the back.

Problem with a lot of these mixes is they're full of annual grass seed - they die after this year.

If you can hit up a garden center you get a bag of only perennial grass seed - these come back year after year.

Remember to plant it in dirt and water like mad!!

Pretty sure they got rid of it because people were 'weeding and feeding' when all they really had to do was the 'feeding' part. Excess weed killer was getting pumped into peoples lawns.

Huh, I didn't even know annual grass was a thing. The Scotts, at any rate, is Perennial Ryegrass, Kentucky Bluegrass, and Creeping Red Fescue - all are perennials.

So should I be fertilizing right now? Then weeds separately?

I'm not sure I can connect those things to the irrigation, I'll ask my irrigation guy. If not, I guess I could use an old school sprinkler?

Just hire someone to do both.

ya, maybe thats the way to go. I was kinda wanting to be a bit more involved with the yard this year to get outside and just have it be a hobby.

    This.
Weed & Feed made sense of your lawn was like 50% weeds and half grass but people were last to spot treat their weds and that meant the herbicide was being used excessively to spread it on your entire lawn.

Spread fert now and either buy a bottle of Killex or a tool like an "American Weeder" so you can leisurely go out and spray your dandelions or pick them while you ponder realty fees.
Math tip: 1L of Killex Concentrate makes 23 bottles of Killex and only costs 2.5x so that's a thing.
Do not under any circumstances get Killex on your hands. Not because it will make your dick shrink or give you butt-AIDS, it's because it stinks incredibly and will not wash off. Holy shit, that will give you the wrong kind of Stink Finger!

We put both these bags all of our front lawn and then also added soil - water like crazy and after a couple weeks it's all sprouted up way better than I imagined!! It's coming along super nicely, but has needed alot of watering to get them to germinate and sprout. We aerated too and patched all spotty areas with soil + seed. Raked. Watering 2 to 3 times a day by hand.

It's been almost 4 weeks now (2 weeks since it's really sprouted) have to go over a few areas that aren't as thick to add more but also next considering a fertilizer.

Any recommendation on a basic fertilizer? Would any ol' bag of Scott's stuff from Cdn Tire work alright of our simple purposes?
