I like neat cars.
The front lawn was doing great up until the beginning of August. Anyone know what this dark green/brownish patch is on the lawn? Only this portion of my lawn has it. I have an automated irrigation system and the lawn gets water on a regular basis. Overall gets overseeded and fertilized 4-5 times a season so I'm doing my lawn right by feeding and watering correctly. At least I think...
I'm thinking this is some sort of disease or maybe over fertilization on this particular spot? I'd like to know for sure before buying some sort of lawn disease control product.

Is it getting extra water compared to the rest?
The area our dog is destroying I’ve seeded and water it every night. Looks way deeper green compared to the areas not getting watered daily.
No, water seems to spread evenly and the dog doesn't do his business on the lawn. Upon closer inspection, there is more dying grass/thatch than the rest and it seems to be a bit dryer. When I step on it, it doesn't spring back up as lively as the rest of the 'brighter' grass. The whole lawn also gets about the same amount of sunlight as well. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
EDIT: If it is disease. I'm wondering if anyone can suggest a product that can cure common lawn diseases. I've tried finding Scott's Disease Ex, but it's impossible to find in Canada and not available on Amazon.

what do you guys do to prepare for the fall/winter ? My lawn is looking better this year but not perfect yet so I want to put more effort next spring / summer
Can do herbicide in the fall or fertilize, whichever your lawn needs.

^ yeah I'm wondering when I should do a fall fertilize, took a bit of a beating from the heat stretches and backyard dog pee.
Mid to end of Sept, and water hard twice the week before

I thought everyone was fertilizing after every mow?
That’s what I do. I just don’t mow that oftenThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

With the forecast in Calgary, right now is the time to make your moves on the lawn. Seeding, spraying weeds, aerating, dethatching, pushing with fertilizer whatever the lawn needs, do it now.
Pretty decent video series on fall lawn care:
Still waiting on Telus/Chemco to come fill in the crack with soil. They filled the hole they dug with more soil after the 1st soil filling but didn't fill the crack. Anyone know who to contact to resolve?

You know those bored stay at home moms who's entire lives revolve around driving their kids to soccer, various cleaning accessories, and worrying about neighbourhood rapists? The kind of people that watch the View and go "uh huh..." Those unfulfilled people who try to fill the void in their empty lives by writing whiny letters to the editor complaining about shit that no one really cares about?
Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.
Quick update on my earlier posts above, it's just super dried out because it gets zero shade during the day and the soil quality in front is not very good so the root system is getting dry and weak. Developers in my neighborhood put up grass and a tree on my property the first year I moved in, but didn't bother tilling or adding top soil. I'm going to try and spray a 10:1 mixture of water:baby shampoo to break up the bonds in the soil and see if that works.
I usually just apply a fall fertilizer, but this year I want to try dethatching, raking and aerating right before the glass goes dormant, then a very short final cut. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Is this from Telus installing PureFibre? If so, your have a Consent for Ground Disruptions form (yellow page) with a contact name and number. We had to get them to come back and fill ours twice because it kept sinking. The seed they lay is pure shit and turned into weeds within 2 weeks. Good luckThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
