I have a 99% full jug of PAR3 if anyone is in the market. I'll sell at a loss (surprise!). PM me if interested. Killex is good enough for my small lawn, now.

AND I have a dethatching and aeration fellow coming today. $130 all in, including clean up. I'm happy to pay that.

When do I hit my lawn with the power rake? Is it too soon now? I want my lawn green first this year.

Now is a good time. Or wait until fall.

Who did you go with for the dethatching service?

May is going to be a busy month for me as it's turning out, I'm afraid I can't find the time for spring clean up. Can anyone recommend a good, reliable company to do some leaf clean up, rock bed/garden blowout and power raking? There are a ton of companies out there in the city right now, but I like to boil it down to a few highly recommended options.

Alot of these options also throw in the aeration in the power raking package, but that was done in the fall and not required at this time.

Power rake now. We got ours done 10 days ago, grass looks great.

Going to fertilize this weekend and hit it with the sprinklers since its so damn dry out.

Some rando from Kijiji. I'm not happy with the results, he only filled 1 garbage bag of thatch. He was flying over my grass at 20mph, rushing the job, so his machine had very little dwell time to dethatch.

I may (or may not) get a $35 dethatching blade and slap it on my lawnmower to do it right. Ugh. Avoid this fellow: https://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details...dId=1657906511

Are you still in the south east?

We use a local husband/wife landscape company and always has turned out great. Have used them to fertilize, aerate and power rake multiple times.

Can't provide a good reference, person I used last year did a good job with everything except the fertilizer. Something wasn't spraying properly and I had giant green strips on my lawn growing well and then rest not happy. Can see his zig zag path of walking perfectly.

I do still live in SE.

I could give them a call for sure. Do they have a website, reviews/previous work, or social media?

Hope that wasn't the guy I referred you to.

Yeah I think so. I don't really have anything bad to say about him as he did show up on time and did everything properly. I just think his sprayer was leaking a bit and probably dumped extra fertilizer as he went.

Wasn't the end of the world to sort out and I mostly just cared about the power raking as the lawn was pretty rough from the prior owners.

Have decided to gamble and throw down fertilizer today. Forecast is looking too good, and my soil temps are surprisingly high already.

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.

Cut last week. Temps were cold. Temps are hot as f this weekend and I'm missing out as I am in Toronto where west coast weather has followed me (cold and rainy). Hoping to get things rolling once I return. Lawn looks good but needs fertilizer to really get things going. Have got a bunch of new patches of poa trivialis that I can only imagine came with the dirt used to top dress. Freaking RIP. Not sure what I will do with it as there is no easy cure.

    Happy 2023 mowing!

@spacerz used to run a landscaping company to do power raking, etc.

I've used Gartly now for 4-5 years. Never an issue.
Passed them on to almost every friend in the SW/SE now.

I've got my spring clean up scheduled for tomorrow, also ripped out my flower bed and built a tiered raised bed with stack stone. My first attempt at anything like this but I'm happy with result, maybe I'll post some pics once I get it filled in and planted.
