Question for you guys, do you do any weed spraying in the fall in prep for the summer?

My neighbour has been gone most of the summer so I've been taking care of his lawn for him. Today he decided to repay the favour and mowed mine for me while I was out with the kids. The problem is I have 3 month old sod and have been cutting it pretty high all summer, but his mower was set to the lowest setting. My poor lawn looks scalped because he cut all the leafy green off and it's down to the base of the stock.
I'm choked. Can someone please tell me that it will grow back before the snow flies! I'm worried that at this point in the year im fucked with the cooler days and cold nights
I'll have to figure out a polite way to tell him that maybe we just go back to mowing our own because now my beautiful thick green grass looks like trash.

Grass is still growing, ground temps still well above 10°c, but it probably won't get as high as you'd like before first frost.

fertilize and water, it will be fine. Keep mowing it, keep it short for the winter. Once the snow flies it will bend the grass over if it's long and you'll have lots of dead grass to deal with in the spring
Can I Join?..or i might have before?? - just finished the project a few weeks ago at our place - Still some fine tuning and small stuff to add for this year
How it started
Mid
How is as now

You can technically do it by yourself with one of the tanks above... just takes multiple pulls. I have a 5 gallon tank compressor, and ran 3 pulls at 60psi and all the water was out. Can grab all the fittings from home depot.
Oh sure, but you don't want your paid irrigation winterizing service to use janky homeowner crap like that. They need the big boy, because it's faster, and they won't ever spend enough time to do it right with the small stuff. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
