They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.

If you wanna go full lawn nerd you should stripe in the direction of the sunrise and sunset to make your stripes pop the most.
Extra lawn nerd points if you go to suncalc.org to get the most optimal directions.

Don't mind the couple dog spots (its a never ending process). But peep all the darker, much faster growing EZ Seed sections, hope winter and then a spring aeration/overseed will take care of that.

Could you add a small gravel pad and teach her to piss on that?

There is a dog run at the side of the house that she now uses 95% of the time. The odd time if she's being a spaz she'll forget and whiz on the grass. If I'm home she gets a swift kick and I'll water that spot, however the wife doesn't have that kinda dedication to the lawn hence the couple dead patches.

Final update of my seeding project, been just over three weeks, I've cut it 3 times with a reel mower, pretty short around 1". Really happy with how it turned out.

Going to use a fertilizer with iron to try and darken it up.

Wow. Looks amazing. That filled in quick. What kind of reel mower are you using?

Just an el cheapo used one, Lee Valley branded. Definitely don't recommend it. The fiskar one is much better. If I was really crazy about lawncare I'd buy a Swardman reel

and I did not have the only say in the matter (most people just want it done ASAP and don't care about quality).

If anything we made a better decision because we had a consensus and were all on the same page.

I cut mine a little longer than usual because tis the season. I don't think I have much to be embarrassed about with this.

That looks great, what height are you cutting at? Rotary or reel?

Oh, thanks! I guess it would be called rotary - whatever a conventional, regular mower is.
I don't know the height, but I typically cut at the lowest setting and this is only one "notch" (LoL super technical) above that. It's a pretty plain mower that at least has Briggs and Stratton power but I got its blades sharpened like a fucking razor last year. That improved it quite a bit.

I need some advice from all the Beyond lawn gurus.

I just moved into a new place and the builder just completed their grading. I received my grading certificate and as usual they piled on the top soil around my property. I noticed grass and weeds has started to grow. I don’t plan to do any landscaping until next year.
What should I to do control/kill the weeds? Or just leave it and deal with it next year?

Do nothing. All of that shit is going to die and be covered in snow in a matter of weeks anyways. If some larger ones really bother you maybe hand pull them.

Congrats on the new place as well!

Use roundup concentrate and buy a hand sprayer for killing the weeds. A couple of weeks before you seed or lay sod, water the dirt, encourage weed growth and nuke them all with roundup. Will keep them from invading your new lawn.
