Anybody have tips on how to melt a glacier off of my rear yard grass that is shaded by a garage 24/7? the freeze/thaw literally created like 12" thick ice glacier on top of my grass and its really f'n my chances at the beyond green off 2022. Am I stupid trying to drill holes in it to allow air/water to get in there and melt it? Tiger torch? Burn whole yard down and let er rip?

Have you considered moving to Aspen?
There are no shaded areas there.

Get some Coors from Glencoe, pour on it. Should help.

Buy some White Trash food so you can invite Killy over then tell him you really enjoy Nissan.

Just picked up one of these:

    https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/y...w.ds#store=467

Haven't had a chance to try it yet. likely this upcoming weekend I'll give it a whirl
Thanks for the reminder... told myself last year I was going to pick one up the next time they were on sale!

I ended up getting the WORX one because it comes with a collection bag.

For anyone looking in store they seem to keep the dethatchers on the top, top shelves for some reason... me and other guy were walking around like idiots trying to find them. I finally found an employee and he was able to lookup where they were and bring a couple down for us!

Going to give it a rip this afternoon!

Any recommendations for tree pruning service?

Have a Mountain Ash that needs to be pruned badly.. figured it's better for referral here than random Kijiji search.

Tree Frog. Did a perfect job on my in-laws giant chokecherry tree.

Didn't realize how cheap the little home-gamer dethatchers had gotten. You get three uses out of them and they're cheaper than renting a big-boy unit from HD and you don't have to deal with lugging the big one around.

I opted for the Sun Joe model that also has a scarifier blade, seems to be good for really ripping up the deep thatch.

    https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01FEATL2I

Sure, it's a plasticky POS but the reviews are good, the warranty is 2 years and an extra 4 years is $25 if you want it.

I'd get the sun joe that's mentioned above. Cheaper and comes with the scarifier. Plus all the youtubers seem to like it
